PwdGen lets you instantly create your password with a simple click. Just choose the length of password you want simply including the kind and number of chars (numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters...)
After click on Generate password.
You can also shuffle the generated password and copy it to the clipboard. PwdGen is a free tool for your Mac.
PALADINO Yet another password generator? There are already a fine selection of them available, most of them also free.
PwdGen is ok, nothing unique here. It'll do the job but so will a multitude of others. I like password generators that spit out pronounceable passwords such as haxial xyzzy http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11627/haxial-xyzzy and Quickpass http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/24517/quickpass. Pronounceable passwords are easier to remember. (Version 1.2)
ZZAMBONI There's a nice "password assistant" built into OSX as part of the Accounts preference pane (click on "Change password", and then on the lock button). Someone (not me) wrote a wrapper that allows to call it as a standalone application, you can find it here: http://www.codepoetry.net/products/passwordassistant (Version 1.2)
