WhyNotUnmount is a tool that explains why unmounting a certain external volume is not possible. Usually this is because files on the volume remain opened by an application. WhyNotUnmount checks which application blocks your volumes from being unmounted properly.
AGATHEZOL Hi! I like your apps interface design. I write the WhatsOpen app and was wondering if you'd be interested in collaborating efforts? The simplistic interface you've used is a wonderful way of presenting a summary of devices. I'd be interested in using it to frontend WhatsOpen as a more straight forward way of displaying information while continuing to use the more expanded view for further system information.
SHANE C SMITH I think this is a great little application and much needed. This should be part of the system as default, which brings me to my suggestion... make it a preference pane which runs in the background. (Version 0.3)
DOM21 There is a definite need for this program. I just discovered it on MU today and, of course, won't know when I'll have the occasion to try it out. But just wanted to comment "kudos" to the dev for creating this app. (Version 0.3)
DANA SUTTON I agree with Driezhas. It's not all that useful to know why a volume refuses to unmount (or why, for that matter if you're unable to do anything about it. On the other hand, a utility that would be a real boon. (Version 0.3)
DRIEZHAS Hey - great app! There are some situations that unmount is impossible even if I think that all docs and apps are closed, looking in Terminals window takes time and sometimes it doesn't give any results. So, I give You 5 stars in advance with hope, You'll add "Force Unmount" button! :-) (Version 0.2)
