Please note, if you want to use iPlayer Grabber outside of the UK you will need to enter a UK based proxy in the preferences sheet.

NOOKSTERM  Just tried this for the first time, and the current update is working great at time of posting.

The biggest irony is that it's better than the AIR based BBC iPlayer, but not in the DRM -stripping way you might think;

The iPlayer application prioritises it's streaming video way above the downloads, in short, this means that your hour long program can takes hours to download. However, this app gets it's files directly via the Stream, which basically means you can get it as fast as your DSL will let you.

In short, even if you don't have issues with DRM, this little program destroys the official iPlayer application on multiple levels, there is really no reason not to use this instead.

STRANGELOOKINGMONKEY  As others have noted, it has stopped working. What a shame- it is a great app. Can we have an update to fix it please?

WILLWOOD  Same problem with iPlayer Downloader. Apparently BBC has changed the DRM again which has blocked all of these download utilities. Hopefully updates will be available shortly.

NAOH  A great little utility that lets me watch the BBC programmes when it suits me.

However, I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be able to deal with age restricted content.

All age restricted content requires the viewer to confirm that they are older than the age limit, by clicking on a red strip that is placed across the bottom part of the preview still.

The iPlayer Grabber don't give me the option to confirm my age, and therefore it doesn't download the actual video content.

So, if you want to download something that is age restricted, I guess you're out of luck.

HUGH1988  If you don't care about breaking the law by wanting to use this app, then why don't u just download 10.5 for free?

FISHNCHIPS  Great little app with great potential. Much easier than using the Ruby script and the dev is very responsive. Light on features are the moment but I reckon this will change in time.

GEOFF6  I can't get the program to work at all on my ppc running OSX10.5.5. It says 'downloading' but nothing happens at all (could it be something to do with 'Little Snitch'?) or I get 'an error occurred!' message. its a shame because it would a useful thing to have, living far away from the BBC.

WITHAKAY  Hi,

if you are not in the UK then you need to find a UK proxy to download through as the iPlayer is region restricted.

MACMUSER  Excellent little app that moves iPlayer on a notch by skipping the need to cut and paste the URL from a web browser. iPlyer Grabber has the browser built in.

The BBC site has the occasional glitch that stops files being downloaded, even if they can be played in their on-line player. It's nothing to do with iPlayer Grabber.
