Apologies for your problems. We were forced to re-evaluate how we supported Windows as it was impacting main development. Contrary to your belief, we are mainly Mac folks. We decided to cease supporting the development of the text rendering engine on Windows that allowed Windows users to have nice looking fonts. I guess if they want really nice fonts now they should just move to a Mac ;-) This unfortunately required a major refactoring of the core text engine on the Mac but has had benefits. The main costs of doing this were being hit by a lack of new features for a while and the retrograde step of the keyboard shortcuts then failing. Our aim is to provide a useful application for people and we have mainly been responding to users that have used the Suggestions/Feedback option within MeshWrite and on the web page rather than trying to follow all online forums (due to the workload of the new text engine). I really do apologise for your frustration. We have now released 1.1.5 that contains keyboard shortcuts for most operations. I hope this goes some of the way to easing your frustration. We are now working on the search - It's next, I promise. As a direct result of your post we have renamed the "More Lines / Less Lines" menu options to Smaller Text on Page (More Lines) Bigger Text on Page (Less Lines) MeshWrite is page/paper based so you choose how many lines you want on your page just like lined paper. (40 lines Lgeal / 80 lines A4, etc). Please don't hesitate to bounce suggestions to us via the menu option in the application or on our web page http://meshwrite.com/suggestions.php as all constructive suggestions will help us to produce a more useful application. We are listening. We are a small team with limited resources and I thank all of our customers who have helped us to push MeshWrite this far. We look forward to supporting all of you in the future. Also, if anyone wants to chat direct via Twitter I'm there as http://twitter.com/mikemesh please just ask me anything and I'll do my best to respond. (Version 1.1.4) |
