    ****.

IPECK  Still, it runs good on my 2GHZ, 3 ram, 128 ati card. Sure you need to bring down the graphics options a bit but still is great.

DIVUS  It does work on a Mac OS extended formated drive. Thats what I'm currently using. Also the game allows you to play against both Mac and PC users if your still wondering.

The actual game itself is great, but multiplayer is where it really is at. The perks system keep this game fresh. Easily one of the best online games out right now.

Now the game does have its issues. Performance isn't all that hot on my 2.8 dual core iMac with 4GB's of RAM and 512MB 8800 card. This computer runs Crysis on higher settings flawlessly, but on COD4 I have to turn a decent number of things down to keep a high frame rate on a busy map. Also the patch didn't go smoothly. I was force to manually install it for it to work.

LEHESTRO  How exactly did you 'manually' install the patch? I have been having a very hard time, as i keep getting an error message upon trying to install the patch saying "the installation appears to be incomplete". Is this what you encountered?

MONTY LEE  I got a message about the new Call of Duty 4 for the Macintosh. I reviewed the specs for the Mac and noticed a major restriction. It says "NOTICE: This game is not supported on volumes formatted as Mac OS Extended." I believe that all Macs purchased from Apple are formatted that way (at least mine is) so I find this restriction will eliminate most Mac users.

WINTERMUTE2  To the user who posted, "This game is not supported on volumes formatted as Mac OS Extended"... that is incorrect. You are missing the key part of the information; it isn't supported on Mac OS Extended CASE SENSITIVE volumes. This is not the default hard drive format and is not commonly used. Users will have no problem with normal Mac OS Extended volumes.

METEPAROZZI  Anyone know if the multiplayer can go up against people on other systems (XBox, PS3, PC) or if it is Mac only? I think that makes a huge difference, as the single player is ho-hum compared to multi. For me it's the difference between buying the game or not.

MACONNECT  You can play against other PC computers. But not on v1.7 servers.

Also, as far as I can tell, the Mac version seems to run faster than the PC version. I just hope they release the 1.7 path soon.

JTHEISS  Ya new games come out and require new machines. That's why we have PS3s and XBOX360s now. It just seemed kinda silly to expect a graphically intense new game to support PPC. I don't expect PS3 games to be able to play on my PS2 either.

MISHA  The video card requirements alone basically take the PPC out of the question. So even if the PPC was supported, you still couldn't play it on there.
