JEFF H. This is such a great thing for us with PPCs (there are a few out there u know! lol!). I use my Mac for everything as well as my main (and only) entertainment/media center. I've ripped all DVDs to external drives( 6 drives totaling 4 TB), have EyeTV with 2 digital ClearQAM tuners, a set of Logitech Z5500s and a 47" monitor with a G5. But I was a bit envious of Plex and others that I've seen that will only run on Intel. I've been relying on Front Row which is ok but kind of unbuttered toast. Now I've just got to figure out if I can run my EyeTV devices through XBMC (Version 9.04.1)

ILGAZ It also shows that they have capability to ship product for PPC Macs, even in this age. It should be a lesson for Adobe (PS elements 8), MS (Silverlight 2) and Apple (some tools, like Quicktime X). No wonder why people predict open source will take over, no matter how amateur things begin. (Version 9.11.alpha2)

ANONYMOUS PLEX has an enormous advantage over XBMC : its developers are clever enough to have a server wherefrom a PPC version can actually be downloaded. Brilliant guys for sure ! (Version 9.04)

VIKRAM SHARMA Do you have the link to the PPC version of Plex, I tried to look for it but could not find. Thanks. (Version 9.04)

D4RK Obvious plug, but how is that even an advantage? You still need an Intel Mac 10.5 to run Plex. XBMC will run natively on PPC or Intel with 10.4. Comprehend the difference? (Version 9.04.1)

RAMPANCY I'm sick of the complaining over Plex being Intel-only. If they can only afford to direct their available resources to Intel-only development, then I'd rather have Plex being an amazing app on Intel versus being a mediocre, buggy app on PPC and Intel. What next, are you going to complain that Apple isn't supporting OS X on your Performa 6400? (Version 9.04.1)
| May 28 2009 |
D4RK RAMPANCY, the only one complaining here is you, maybe you meant to post in another thread. Also, the quality of a piece of software doesn't have to be inversely proportional to the number of supported platforms. If that were the case, most console games would be unplayable. (Version 9.04.1)

ILGAZ @RAMPANCY as I said above, a tool being Intel only tells a lot about its inner parts, how "native" it is, how "portable" it is for future (very interesting things to come), how competent the developers are. (Version 9.11.alpha2)

E_COMMERCE As someone else asked (and got no answer), how does this compare to Plex? They're based on the same core, right? (Version 9.04)

DX Congrads to the developers. This is trully an amazing application. It transforms your Mac/AppleTV into an ultimate media center. I use XBMC both on an old xbox and recently installed it on my AppleTV. Once you use XBMC on the ATV, you realize that it was almost useless prior to the update. When I have friends over and I turn on my tv, they cannot believe my setup. Also, cudos on the developers for maintaining a very helpful website and being very responsive to suggestions and bugs on their forum. (Version 8.10)

JEFF H. So bummed that it this only works on Intel Macs. I use my Mac as my only source of media and I would really love to have a more together multimedia interface. I work with Frontrow right now and its ok. Its better than nothing at all, but this looks great.
