DESCRIPTION
Stuf is a multiple clipboard manager that can share your clippings over your local network, share images and text with your friend and co-workers, copy on one machine, paste on another! Stuf lets you categorize all your clippings, easily search them, on your machine and on other Macs running Stuf. Clipboards shared over your network can have a password applied to keep private clippings out of reach from anyone without a password. Stuf uses multiple processes with multiple threads, making sure it always runs as efficiently as possible on today's multi-core Macs.

CHAOTICPIXEL  I would like to add some input from my extensive experience with Stuf, formally known as Shadow. My experience with Stuf has been pleasurable. They are constantly improving the application, they listen to feedback and implement suggestions VERY quickly. Here is an example (from my email correspondence):

I have been using Stuf for quite some time, and lately, I have noticed a REALLY long delay in pasting some things ...

Unfortunately, this is a known problem, we're aware of what causes it, but not how to fix it just yet. The problem revolves around AppleScript, which Stuf uses to tell an application to "paste", for some reason the AppleScript engine is taking a while to "warm up" in each application, so your first paste will be slow, but consequent pastes should be perfectly fast. ...

Okay, thank you for the prompt response. By the way, I do have a suggestion, or maybe I just missed something in the preferences. I would love a way to select the default pasting to be in plain text instead of formatted text. Being able to turn this off or on would be great. Thanks again.

Hmm, I'd probably like that too! Should be easy enough to implement, will see about doing that.

Just so you know, the option to default to pasting plain text is now implemented and will be in a release this week..

Now that is customer service .. AWESOME!

Pros: Stuf has a great interface, very Mac-like and progressive, simple non-intrusive menubar icon, keyboard shortcut option, options for default plain text pasting (my favorite option) and networked sharing capability for multiple clipboards (very functional). Of course, the great customer service. Stability is good for me as I have only had a couple of problems with Stuf during my appr. year of use.

Cons: Stuf is slow on first pasting, and it has been mentioned that it does not handle 200+ remembered items (but who needs 250 copied items remembered, to be honest, not me).

WOODEN BRAIN CONCEPTS  The download link as of 3PM EST on 10/19 yields the last version, 1.43. There is no mention of version 1.5 on the dev's web site or forum announcements.

WALRUSCP  It looks like the updates described are there when you update. I suspect the Dev forgot to update the version number on the 1.5 update build.

MISHA  We have confirmed with the dev that this is version 1.5, they just didn't update the version strings. We have already pointed this out to them and asked them to correct it.

MC_SHIZZEL  It's a great piece of software when it works, I got it quite some time ago and found it to be very buggy but the developers are quick to fix bugs.

With that said they still haven't fixed problems related to the program's stability. I find that it becomes slow and unusable when more items are "memorized" and it beach balls my old last generation 15" PowerBook with Mac OS 10.4 even with just 3 text items.

Speed and stability ruins what could be a great and very handy program.

ZX  I also love the look...but over 200+ clips Stuf is unusable (slow and unstable)!

1. Make the sidebar Hide/Show ASAP!

2. Text size and font customization (on non formatted option) ASAP!

2 The search Bar should be expandable and safari alike (move it up, Search-on-the-fly...).

3. Delete the anoying info message on the bottom.

4 . No delays...speed!

thanks:)

MISTERSQUID  This program is PURE GARBAGE. I fired it up on my dual 2.5 GHz G5 running 10.5.5 and it did not have the courtesy to bring itself into focus. Not able to find it running on my system nor to recall what it does, I tried to Google more information on "Shadow."

Imagine my surprise when I could no longer type the letter "a". I had to go to Activity Monitor and quit the process from there.

I can't believe something this buggy would ever be released on an unwitting public.

I think MacUpdate should remove this program from its database until the developers do sufficient beta testing.

BILLY THE BIKER  The focus is fixable by turning off the shadow option in prefs. That's a lame reason for a critical review. Stuf's previous name was Shadow after all.

VELGOR242  Having tried most of the clipboard applications out there, I have to say this is one of the better ones. The UI is fabulous, stability great and usability is getting there. The dev is VERY responsive and seems committed to the app, unlike some others out there. I look forward to offering my thanks for the effort by purchasing a license.

GUNTIS  Looks promising!

Now if you could add filters with Grep patterns (like in PTHPasteboard Pro) for pasting through the filters, this would be fantastic tool!
