DESCRIPTION
Syrinx is a free, customizable Twitter client with a strong, efficient workflow.

Experience your tweets in color by customizing the background colors or using the built in themes. Keep track of unread tweets using the intuitive new bookmarking system. Search your tweets to find what you missed. Syrinx includes built in Growl support as well as a way to manage your following list. Syrinx 2.0 introduces the ability to search all of twitter, as well as retweeting, tweet deletion, URL shortening and much more.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.0.3:
  • Fixed an issue where a conversational tweet opened in Safari would result in an invalid negative tweet ID
  • Fixed an issue where manually entering a direct message used a case-sensitive name lookup for the not-following alert sheet
  • Fixed an issue where the replied to tweet ID was not being specified correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the tweet button outline would be drawn outside a cell
  • Removed the tweet button shadows (one small part of the WWDC UI Review)
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

ASHMADUX  Hey guys, this is an addendum to my last feedback.

The app does work fine on my G5 tower, haven't seen the auto-logout issue i had on my PG G4. However, i'm not sure if its a bug, but for one reason or another, after a tweet is posted, the typing box becomes inactive. So if im doing a string of tweets, i have to re-click into the box to begin tying again. It's incredibly annoying, hopefully something that can be rectified.

The only other thing I was curious was about image support, and what you guys were going to implement on that front. hyperlink implementation is pretty basic as well.

but hey it works...with a little more chutzpa, this could be the standard

thx

MRRSOFTWARE  Syrinx doesn't have a way to automatically or manually log you out. You can only log out when you log in with another account (i.e. - you can only be logged in with one account at a time). If you feel you've discovered a bug or are having usability issues feel free to contact me through my website if I can be of assistance.

MRRSOFTWARE  Syrinx has the ability to send and receive direct messages. Version 1.3.1 does not show you direct messages you have sent, though it will tell you if the sending of a message failed. Version 2.0 will also show sent direct messages in your timeline.

FRANKO  Add sounds: If you want Syrinx to use other sounds than that of your System, John Martellaro posted a neat how-to here:

GLOBETROTTERDK  Personally, I have already gotten spoiled by the iPhone app Tweetsville, and am looking for a Twitter client that allows subject searches and registers trends.

YOU GUYS!  The best Twitter client, period. And you can't beat free!

You can define your color scheme and make it look nice—although some of those cool looking smoky semi-transparent windows wouldn't hurt either. You don't have to load up a webpage to display the tweet itself and with a single click on the "bookmark" button of the bar you mark the new ones viewed (that goes for the last comment).

Download it, you won't be disappointed.

RADIORHAEEM  Looks promising, but still needs some polishing. Totally a personal preference but I can't shrink the window down to my desired size, and there doesn't appear to be an easy to use way to mark new tweets as read. I'll stick with twhirl for now but once this goes through a few updates I'll definitely be checking it out again.
