DESCRIPTION
PowerTunes allows iTunes users to create multiple libraries, organize their music among multiple music folders, and share music and libraries between multiple users on a machine.
In addition to simply creating and keeping track of your libraries, PowerTunes also offers many additional features to help organize your music. Users can copy music back and forth between their libraries while maintaining all their ratings, play counts, and other information stored in iTunes. This allows libraries to be split up into smaller ones, or merged together into larger ones.
PowerTunes also offers a one-step solution for sharing iTunes libraries and music among multiple user accounts on a machine, allows users to fix dead tracks whose files have gone missing, finds orphaned music files in their music folders, and much more.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.1.2:
- Changed UI to match iTunes 9 and use the term "media folder" instead of "music folder"
- The disclosure triangles for folders in the Find Orphans list now display properly when running Tiger
- The "Delete selected tracks from iTunes" button in the "Fix Dead Tracks" window now enables correctly when running on Tiger
- Worked around a Tiger bug that could cause a "Can't do regex matching" error to occur when copying certain tracks between libraries
- The "Find Orphans" window no longer halts with an error upon encountering an unreadable file/folder inside the media folder
- Dead track searches no longer show video files as possible matches for a dead audio track, and vice versa
- Ringtones are no longer incorrectly identified as being orphans
- Made several adjustments to better handle iTunes library files with .itl extensions
- PowerTunes now adjusts media file paths as necessary when dealing with a recently moved/copied iTunes library
- Fixed a problem where iTunes libraries on remote volumes would not be selectable when trying to add a library to PowerTunes
- Fixed a bug where PowerTunes might not find iTunes if it wasn't located in its default install location
- Fixed a crash which could occur when embedding artwork on a large number of tracks at once
