DESCRIPTION
Chronicle... Paying bills just got easy! Have you ever missed a credit card payment? Have you ever found yourself in a panic, trying to remember if you paid your rent or mortgage this month? Do you just want to get a better idea of how much you are spending on your bills?

Chronicle 2 will help you with all of this and more. Designed to be incredibly easy to use, Chronicle will remind you to pay all your recurring bills on time, and keep track of what you have paid. Automatic bill averaging helps you budget bills that are not always the same, like utility bills.

And now, Chronicle supports OS X 10.4 (Tiger) as well as Leopard (see note on Tiger compatibility in version history). Plus:

  • Automatic Bill Averaging: Budget bills that are not always the same, like utility bills.
  • Reminders link to iCal: Chronicle can add reminders for each of your bills--automatically--to iCal (Leopard only). You are reminded of upcoming due dates, even if Chronicle and iCal are not running.
  • iPhone sync: Through iCal, your reminders can be automatically synchronized to your iPhone.
  • Payment History: Chronicle remembers your payment history for each bill, and even organizes scanned or downloaded receipts by date, so you can quickly find them for reference later.
  • Free updates: New versions of Chronicle are always free, even if substantial features are added.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.26:
  • Bugfix: Fixed an bug in statistics that could cause a monthly total to display incorrectly.
  • Bigfix: Fixed an issue with updating in certain countries.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later; reminders from iCal require Mac OS X 10.5.

BNBLISS  I can't say enough good things about Chronicle2. Not only can you pay bills and have it remind you but there is a function that allows you to pay off loans/debts etc. When I wrote to the developer he was very quick to reply and incredibly patient when I requested features that were already there that I hadn't seen. Highly recommended.

MARKONMAC  These days I want to be extra careful about paying bills on time. I can use iCal to set reminders, but Chronicle goes the extra mile (and beyond) by providing a place that lists all of your bills, their due dates, the average payment amount, and when the last payment was made. It has a very pleasing interface, Adding a bill is easy, as is editing one already added. When a paid bill is logged, iCal is automatically updated to show and alert when the next month's (or whatever increment) bill is due. A text box is provided for the creditor's web site, and a function is available to click to go to that site to pay. The developer is responsive and promises free updates to even major new releases.

I feel more secure and at ease owning this software.

CSERRINS  I've used Chronicle 2 for a couple of months now and have found that this is the perfect solution to something my bank doesn't offer. Automatic reminders to bills. With all the online billing taking place now and the email reminders, I tend to forget if I have submitted my payment. Chronicle 2 offers an easy UI to look at your bills, their due dates and the typical amount owed. The price is right on for the feature set offered.

HMURCHISON  Mint.com may be overkill for someone that just wants some alerts to when a bill is due and doesn't want to use their calendar for this. The + is that the dev gives lifetime updates.

ANONYMOUS  Developer here. I think Chronicle has some unique benefits over Mint.com. Mint.com is a great site, but Chronicle can do some things it cannot. For example:

1) Mint.com has no way of knowing if you've paid a bill or not. It's alerts that a bill is due come whether or not you've paid it. In Chronicle, when you've logged a payment, it automatically disables the reminder until the next bill cycle.

2) Setup is faster in Chronicle, and you don't have to give out any personal information like bill names and passwords. Many people are not comfortable sharing sensitive information like passwords to bank accounts online.

3) Mint offers no way to see all of your bill due dates at a glance, while Chronicle does.

4) As HMURCHISON said, Chronicle updates will always be free, and we work hard to add features that users request. We've added several already, requested by users.
