MDAY108  I process a LOT of email every day seven days a week.

In light of this, I find flagit to be invaluable.

I especially like the fact that I can choose to have the subject heading

made into the same color as my flag

which enables me to scan my flagged emails even faster.

On top of this, this is another great app from TastApps and besides quality...

you simply can't beat the customer service Tim and Tom give.

Give it a try and...

I don't know what the big hooplah is about if you try it

and discover that flagit's not for you.

It's very easy to uninstall but...

I doubt you'll want to.

Use it and put it to the test for a couple of days,

and I am sure you'll be as grateful for it as I am.

MICKSMAC  I tried it and, while the flagging works well, it has the intolerable (for me) side-effect of bringing Mail into the foreground whenever new mail arrives.

To remove it (there are no obvious instructions), delete the following (then reboot):

~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/plugins/FlagIt.bundle

~/Library/Mail/FlagIt-Settings.plist

~/Library/Application Support/FlagIt!/ (folder + contents)

If you weren't already using SIMBL for other appl input management, you can also delete the following (leave if in doubt):

/Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/ (folder + contents)

/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/ (folder + contents)

/Library/Receipts/SIMBL.pkg

Reboot and empty the trash.

Well it doesn't for me, I wonder what that could be.

GCOGHILL  Yikes, I hesitantly installed this and don't like it, can't find a way to uninstall and can't find the files on the hard drive.

GCOGHILL  Gto a quick reply from the developer with the following uninstall instructions:

Flagit! can be removed with the following steps:

1. In the Finder, select "Go>Go to folder..."(or apple-shift-G)

2. In the "Go To Folder" dialog, enter /Libraray/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins

(in some configurations you might have to goto users/Library/Applications Support/SIMBL/Plugins -

take note of the "users" in this path)

3. This should open a new Finder window - in it you should see a file called "flagit.bundle"

4. Delete this file (put it in the trash), then restart your Mac - Flagit! should be gone.

I swear I looked in the SIMBL plugins folder, but I guess not.

GCOGHILL  The dev needs to have more info on his webpage and some screenshots. How does this differ from IMAP flags?

FOULGER  Flagit is a great little App which I was happy to buy after the trial period expired. The author is very quick to communicate. HOWEVER - I have a problem whereby "As completed" and "Clear Flags" stay greyed out. Whether this is a result of my using Spamsieve (I can't see how, though) or some other factor, I don't know. What I do know is that this wonderful little app, which should be part of Apple Mail IMHO, has a flaw, which the author, by his own admission will be fixed but he can't say when. For me it has spoiled the basic idea behind Flagit. I hope the author can sort it out sooner rather than later.
