DESCRIPTION

VideoPier HD adds the following features to VideoPier:

  • Ability to capture HDV from tape-based camcorders. VideoPier handles scene detection, date detection and writes the files to disk in their native format (m2ts streams).
  • Ability to export to Final Cut Express/Pro via XML. VideoPier will transcode the native files into Quicktime HDV when possible (i.e if you have the codec installed) or AIC in all other cases.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.2 of VideoPier and VideoPier HD is now compatible with even more camcorders, see the list here

New in this version:

  • Added support for Avid Media Composer. You can now export clips directly to Avid using the ALE format. VideoPier adds support for the Avid DNxHD codecs.
  • Added support for multiple camcorders connected at the same time.
  • Added support for a category of camcorders supporting multiple recording locations (HD and Flash card) such as the Vixia series by Canon. VideoPier will mount both locations and let you transfer clips.
  • Added support for exporting to iMovie libraries located on external drives or any location on disk.
  • changed the ergonomics of full screen playback. You can now launch full screen playback via a new button in the command bar.

THE MAN IN THE BLACK SEDAN  This app is so unstable. It crashes, and it just won't import my footage. It imports like 3 seconds out of an entire minute. It has a good GUI, but it doesn't even work.
