MGLAMB Glims causes issues with Flash in Safari 5.0.1 - I was unable to play video at YouTube until uninstalling Glims. I repaired permissions, reinstalled the latest version of Flash and rebooted. Nothing worked except uninstalling Glims. Let's hope there's a speedy resolution - I miss Glims already! (Version 1.0b25)

MGLAMB Looked into this further and the issue is not with Glims. There does seem to be an issue with Safari 5.0.1 not playing video from within a Subscription window. For now I have reverted to Safari 5.0.0. (Version 1.0b25)

JRAMBO this is an awesome application. there are a few bugs here and there, and i'm not sure if the developer fixes them quickly or not. nonetheless, this app is free, and i would have gladly paid for it. it really brings a bunch of much needed functionality to Safari that should already be there. great application!! B. JEFFERSON LE BLANC I switched back to Glims so that I could use some other SIMBL plug-ins that Saft appears to block, including Safari Source - but not PithHelmet. I was disappointed this time around, though. Restoring tabs is chaotic; they switch windows and sequence; and Glims does not preserve page magnification, a feature of Saft I find very useful. So I'm back with Saft and doing without Safari Source, which I don't use all that often anyway. I'm using Safari 5 in OS X 10.6.4. I did not experience these problems with tabs in Glims in earlier versions (and yes, I disabled Saft before using Glims again), but now find it all but unusable. No doubt there may be some cause for this instability of which I'm unaware, but I get tired of troubleshooting every little thing, as if I were still using OS 9. I'll be glad when all these hacks migrate to Safari extensions - that day can't come too soon. (Version 1.0b25)

MACMEND.COM got hold of the people at Glims and a very fast response, restarted my mac and now all is well, Glims back running. (Version 1.0b25)

TUBO Initially didn't see Glims in Safari 5 after install. Rebooted the Mac - now it worked. But until now, Safari crashed once (OS 10.5.8) indicating that probably a dylib associated with Glims could be the culprit. (Version 1.0b25)

GECCOH I'm just curious how you know that a fix, or new version, for Safari 5 is in the works. There is no mention of it on their site or blog. In fact, there isn't even a mention of the release of "Safari 5". You would think that if the developer(s) was busy preparing a release or had decided no more time would be spent updating the program, he/she would have taken a few seconds to post on their blog that fact. (Version 1.0b24)

VITALY it's on their facebook page (Version 1.0b24)

GECCOH That explains it, I'm not a FaceBook user, and I still have to wonder why they'd put the info on a network known not to be too concerned about your privacy, rather than update their blog or site. (Version 1.0b24)
| Jun 13 2010 |
VITALY i do not know who they are, but they do disclose that "We are just a bunch of kids having fun. Please don't take us too seriously." not sure how much can be expected. and the software works, it's free, and updated reasonably quickly (compare this, for example, to unsanity, who produce outstanding software, but take many many months of almost complete silence before they update) (Version 1.0b24)
| Jun 14 2010 |
GECCOH Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about them not updating fast enough for me. I just didn't understand, since they went through the trouble of creating a site and blog, why they then chose to use FaceBook to convey that information. They may be doing it for fun, but they should also be learning from this project of theirs, not just programming and coding techniques, but end user support or relations. So hopefully in the future they will update the site that they link to here, with any announcements, instead of just posting them on a 'social' site. Not that it makes much difference to me anymore, as I'm about to install Stand again (bought a license a while back) because it has been updated to be fully compatible with Safari 5 .... (Version 1.0b24)

GECCOH Sorry, I meant 'Saft', not 'Stand'. (Version 1.0b24)

ASMEURER Hopefully the Safari 5 extensions will allow the sort of things that Glims does so that we can use something that is actually supported (not to mention being developed…) (Version 1.0b24)

WILLOWMAC Just tried Glims with Safari 5 - seems to work OK for me, but i have to say, I have most of Glims features disabled. I only use the Bookmarks enhancements and, the auto-close downloads window feature. The only other Safari plugin I am using is Safari Cookies, and that is working OK too. (Version 1.0b24)

MONKEYJUNKEY Issues with Safari 5. And it never really worked well under Safari 4. Their website is completely outdated and there seems to be zero development going on. It's a pity, because I couldn't find any session saver for Safari and that is so basic, I really need that in a browser. This smells dead. Uninstalling now. (Version 1.0b24)

CHEESEHEAD It was just updated in Jan of this year. Safari 5 just came out yesterday. Give them some time for gods sake. (Version 1.0b24)

JOHN SAWYER CJS There's also the SafariStand plugin to automatically reload the previous Safari session. (Version 1.0b24)

JOHN SAWYER CJS Oops--I meant to say "SafariRestore", since there's already a reply here referring to SafariStand. (Version 1.0b24)
| Jun 12 2010 |
SJK SafariRestore doesn't (yet) support interactively selecting which saved tabs to restore, like SafariStand (at least) does. (Version 1.0b24)

MONKEYJUNKEY 1.0b25 proves me wrong. Well, good to see some development. (Version 1.0b25)
