    ****.

SYHARRIS  While it's pretty user friendly and easy to use, and it's accessible commentary is from R.L. Wing's "iChing Workbook"...a $23 book (you can get for less used, on Amazon for example), Change's pricepoint at $39 IS rather high, imho. I'd say $25 would be about right for it.

For the iChing aficionado, worth looking into is the software program "The iChing Connexion X 3.3.1": http://www.mindsports.net/I_Ching_Connexion/ThinkCVersion/

Now, it's much more complex and less user friendly than Changes, it uses the James Legge (19th century Sinologist) iChing translation...hardly intuitive nor all that easily accessible, and it hasn't been updated since it's release nearly 4 years ago, but it's still quite interesting.

SYHARRIS  I neglected to include an important criticism of the trial version.

While the download allows one a trial period of 14 days, which is quite reasonable, in ADDITION to that one is allowed a MAXIMUM of just five uses during the 14 day period, after which Changes becomes unusable.

Now that really STINKS in a big way!

The iChing is something that one can use throughout a lifetime, an infinite number of times, without losing its value in the slightest.

The 5 use limit is absolutely bizarre! What is the developer's rationale for doing that??? Perhaps he/she thinks that one will be less inclined to purchase Changes if it's used freely during the 14 day period? It's just absurd!

FYREFLYE  R L Wing's version (not translation) is a useful modern one and the answer provided was quite relevant to my question. But the non-adjustable font is way too small for the size screen required and the price is way too high for what most potential users would consider a novelty item. I own eight weighty Yijing translations in book form and only one of them cost anything near as much as this program. Correct the design to allow a readable type face and I might pay up to $12 for it.
