DESCRIPTION
Bezipped is a file compression and archive utility built on top of the bzip2 command line tool that comes with Mac OS X. In general, Bezipped creates smaller archives than those generated by Finder’s “Compress” functionality. Couple that with the fact that Bezipped also allows you to create “Windows safe” archives (archives without the dreaded ._ files), and the ability to put archives where you choose, and you’ve got a one stop compression shop.

    ****.

CODIN  I have used Bezipped since it was released. It has been very stable, and in most cases it yields a smaller archive then the built in zip functionality. The one feature that stands out for me, is the 'Create "Windows Friendly" archives' in preferences. In my office there is a mix of Windows/Mac users, and whenever I send an archive to a Windows user they always try to open the resource fork. My only feature request would be that the app auto-quits when I drag files to it.
