DESCRIPTION
aspectRatio is a simple self contained application that calculates both fixed and custom aspect ratio conversions. Conversions can be triggered using your mouse or with keyboard commands.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.9:
  • If custom calculated output dimensions are not evenly divisible by 16, the aspectRatio Custom Conversion utility will now suggest evenly divisible high/low values.

Select MPEG formats are based on 16x16 macro-blocks. Output dimensions evenly divisible by 16 will maximize encoder efficiency and yield optimum results.

  • New Preferences Panel with a new option to set the font color of the calculated numerical output displays.

  • The code for the Main Window formats display has been rewritten.

  • New multi-view Help panel.

  • A Main Application Window selection option has been added to the Window menu. If the main application window is inadvertently closed while the application is still running, this option will re-display the main window.

  • Updated the Sparkle Framework to ver.1.5 b6. This includes DSA Signatures for enhanced security.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

GENERAL HONEYPOT  This is a great little app. It's simple and easy to use.

You can calculate both vertical and horizontal values in the custom values area.

It's very handy.

I'm using version 1.6t for Tiger.

GENERAL HONEYPOT  Is there no chance for a 10.4.11 version? I really need an app like this.

NAOH  While it's a neat little tool, I'm puzzled as to why it is only possible to enter a value in the box for horizontal.

Sometimes I know the vertical value, and would like to find out the horizontal one.

It would be useful to have the option to calculate in both directions.

JEFF K  This is going to be a permanent fixture in my dock. Great work!

Naoh: I think you can put in a custom vertical. If you click on the bottom right "dot" button it brings up a window with more extensive options.
