Locket sets your desktop background to a picture taken from your friend's iSight at specific intervals, and putting your picture on your friend's desktop. The inverse happens on your friend's computer.
Now you can feel like you're up-to-date with your loved ones - see your child at school, your friends on holiday or your partner at work - all with the subtlety of a desktop picture. Rather than the hassle of organising a video chat, stay visually connected to friends while you're left free to carry on working or playing with your computer.
Sorry, but I lost the source code, so Locket isn’t supported any longer :( I would consider re-coding it of MacUpdate users thought it had potential and came up with some good ideas for improvement. Please provide such in the comments.
Version 1.4:
- Added update-checker which activates on launch and fixes a big which prevented users from updating to a new version, due to their image being in use.
- Usernames must now contain at least four numbers to avoid clashes with other users.
- Higher-resolution loading images, without the confusing similarity to a window!
- Tool-tips
Mac OS X 10.3 or later, Apple iSight.
