Magic Mail Folder is one of the fastest way to send emails. It turns any folder on your desktop into an email-sending-box. You just have to give your freshly created folder(s) the name of an email address (like myFriend@hotmail.com) and it will be recognized.
FMAXWELL Rather than using a standard SMTP protocol for sending, this application only works with gmail. If you do not have a gmail account, the app will not work for you.
The application asks for your gmail login and password. This is a tremendous security concern. Even if you use a firewall and limit the application's access to gmail, for all you know, it is logging on to gmail and sending your account login information to the author -- or sending him copies of e-mail from your gmail account.
Until/unless the author makes a version that works with standard mail servers (rather than proprietary gmail servers) I recommend that you pass on this one. (Version 1.1b3)
HABANITA MMF author's reply has been posted in a new thread. (Version 1.1b3)

MEMPHISBIRD I installed MMF and could not get it to work for me. I uninstalled it, or attempted to, but it seems it's still trying to launch and not finding files. I get this message: "(MMF.command[34457]) posix_spawn("/Users/Shared/Launch_MMF_Daemon/MMF.command", ...): No such file or directory" It is repeated over and over in my console log. What do I need to do to stop this? (Version 1.1b4)
MEMPHISBIRD To answer my own question, I read the Read Me file. Duh. I reinstalled the app, pressed the stop button, then deleted the app and the MMF file from ~/Library/LaunchAgents/. Rebooted, and now the message is gone. (Version 1.1b4)

BYTESMITHS I recommend stating that it is for gmail only very prominent in the description. I got too excited when I thought it was a general SMTP client. (Version 1.1b3)
TOMDOHERTY Just checked a few minutes age and downloads still yield v1.0 ...all filed in the .dmg (which is named 'Magic Mail Folder 1.1.dmg') have identical names, creation dates etc as those I downloaded with v1.0 back in April!! (Version 1.1b)

JOESANDWICH Yes, it should be written under the logo. Thanks for pointing me out this issue. The truth is that I didn't update the cocoa informations of the App. I only changed the code that is located inside. It seems that i am also a BETA-developer ;-)
Thanks again for your interests. I am widely open to any improvement ideas and suggestions ! (Version 1.1b)

HABANITA The app has been updated and partially re-written. It should work fine now, for everyone and (hopefully) forever...
And as a reply of the previous comment who wondered "can this not work with mail app" ? Well, as a deamon, MMF becomes part of the system. No need to fire up Mail App. Any folder (with an email formated name) is ready to post any kind of documents. For what it does, it is a way faster than Mail App (see the test-speed video). (Version 1.1b)
DOOBIEXX Very promising, It could either continue to get more stable, more features, more users or get too bloated. The concept is beautiful in it's simplicity, I hope it stays that way and in the background.
Great job on this app so far. I really like it, Thank you. (Version 1.1b4)
