DADDY WELLS  Unlike other people commenting here, I am no stats expert, so a simplified GUI appealed. Having shelled out please let me pass on that, while I do get accurate results out of the program, I have found the provided help average at best, the online support completely useless, and it seems to like crashing and causing my machine to tie itself into knots. This repeatedly happens when asking it to do certain legitimate analyses, so one must conclude that the program is buggy.

I have received one reply from "support", which acknowledged that I hadn't had any replies so far and promising to get back to me in 48 hours - 6 weeks ago!

So the only advice I can give, is try and talk one of the other posters here in to helping you out - this program is certainly not worth the money.

HOTFREAKS  Why on earth would you shell out for this when a far more robust statistical package, R, is available for free. Another bafflingly overpriced Mac app. (and there are many)

PCHARLES67  I'd pay the $200 just to get rid of R's ugliness. There is no reason why software of any kind needs to have so many floating windows!

HOTFREAKS  Give me a break. The UI?

R is for building statistical models, not painting pretty pictures. Anyone who is serious about doing stats on OSX will be using R, not StatPlus. I'm wondering who on earth is going to pay $200 for this software; it appears only to be able to do very rudimentary statistical tests. Can it do generalized linear models? Nope. Bayesian statistics? Nope.

Save your money.

SIMONM  I agree, $200 for this is a joke, but you can't compare a GUI-based stat program with R. Though powerful, R is essentially a command-based language and pretty intimmidating to most.
