DESCRIPTION
CrossOver Games... Now gamers can play the games they want, on whatever platform they want! With CrossOver Games, you can run many popular Windows games on your Intel OS X Mac or Linux PC. Whatever your tastes... first-person shooters, fantasy, strategy, MMORPGs... CrossOver Games provides the capability to run many popular games titles. CrossOver comes with an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing your games simple and fast. Once installed, your game integrates seamlessly into your Desktop. Just click and run! Best of all, you do it all easily and affordably, without needing a Microsoft operating system license.
CrossOver Games is built on the latest versions of Wine, based on contributions from both CodeWeavers and the open-source Wine community, and then lovingly hand-crafted by Stefan Dösinger, our very own Wine/Games connoisseur. Unlike other CrossOver products, which are aimed primarily at office productivity applications (and hence maximum stability), CrossOver Games aims to bring you the latest, greatest, bleeding edge improvements in Wine technology. This means that the newest games run faster and better under CrossOver than under other versions of CrossOver, or other version of free Wine, for that matter. You want to run your Mom's knitting software? Maybe you should look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you need better framerates on Linux or Mac so you can frag your buddies: check out CrossOver Games!

JEREMYAN It is overall pretty impressive when things works. However the it is too pricy because it is a subscription based structure. 40 dollars per year is very expensive compared to even buying a copy of Window XP or 7. They should allow 40 dollars to last at least two years or free updates between major upgrades. (Version 8.1.3)

OPETER Works great! Just installed the CrossOver Games Mac Pro edition, that you can download today for free from their website. I tryed installing Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen II game and WOW! It works great. 1600x1200, 32-bit, anistropic config on works flawlessly on my Mac mini 1,83 GHz on GMA 950! :) Thank you CodeWeavers for this nice product! (Version 7.1.1)

FOU STEP I like the ability to play Windows based gamed through CrossOver Games. Guild Wars works great! There are a lot of options to configure (and to make a game work). However there is a downside, if you want updates at first it isn't a problem but you have a problem after a year. No matter what version you have (8.0.0) you won't be able to get 8.1.0 because you have to pay the 32 euro (more in dollar) to get updates for 12 months again. That way it's becoming pretty expensive to play a couple of games (Boot Camp is way cheaper and way more stable). They should allow free updates until a major update comes. Overall the program is fair and pretty stable for the supported games. (Version 8.1.0)

SAGGIS I'd basically wanted the orange box since it came out. After humming and haaing about this for months I decided to give it a whirl thinking nah it won't work like it says, there will be a catch. We'll I played the HL2 demo on steam and was fully blown away, everything looked beautifully rendered, I then purchased the orange box off steam and everything worked perfectly and doesn't mean I have to reboot into vista. Sure there is the odd glitch on occasion but it really is amazing how well this works, it's not a gimmick, it's for real. A great way to get fantastic games that us mac users miss out on. DIEDEL Its an awesome program wich makes (in every newer version) more and more pcgames work on Linux and Mac. If the game you like is not on the compatibility page, it doenst mean it doenst run. Just test it, and if it doenst work somehow, submit the game in the database and put a thread in the forum wich problem you encouter and maybe advocates (like me) or staff members can help to get the game work after all. Just visit the site and have a look. (Version 8.0)

MARK EVERITT My late 2008 MBP has never had a kernel panic until today, attempting to run Darwinia through Steam on the CrossOver Games demo. Shan't be using it again. Had better luck with wine on Macports. (Version 8.1.4)

DYLAN MCNAMEE But if you got it during the celebration "Crossover is free for a day" promotional, then no, you've got the full version (but probably only a year of updates for free). (Version 8.0)
