DESCRIPTION
Get Backup is a backup and synchronization software utility suitable for both beginners and pros.This program is a simple and efficient tool for creating personal backups and keeping files in-sync in two locations.

Quick video tour of Get Backup available.

Scheduling helps to fully automate the backup and synchronization processes, so that backups are built and sync takes place on a regular basis (daily, weekly or monthly). Create different schedules for each backup or sync project.

Synchronization tool lets you to coincide files and folders from one disk location to another. This helps to have files in-sync and up-to-date, for instance on both your desktop and laptop computers.

Integration with Apple iPhoto, Mail, iTunes and Address Book makes it very easy to access and backup your music, photos, e-mail and address archives.

Encryption allows to prevent unauthorized restore of your financial, personal or other data. Most common encryption standards are supported, AES-128, 256, Blowfish or Triple DES).

Get Backup is flexible enough: you can reduce the backup archive size using compression tools, restore it on any computer without Get Backup using only system utilities, and much more.

The program allows to save backups to any locally mounted device/drive, including FireWire, USB, ATA, SCSI, CD and DVD devices, or network volumes. As well as burn your backups to Blu-ray discs, CD/DVD through Roxio Toast Titanium.

Diverse Backup Methods:
  • Full - all selected files are saved, and the resulting archive replaces the previously created one.
  • Versioned - all selected files are saved in a new backup archive, and the previous archives remain intact.
  • Incremental - each time a backup is built, only the files that were changed are saved in the new backup archive.
  • WHAT'S NEW
    Version 2.2.5:
    • Changed Log system. Complete Logs are now saved to a text file during the backup process, while the Log window shows only errors and warnings. At the end of the backup/synchronization process, a summary is shown;
    • Fixed the problem with failed backups due to non-existing files or files with limited privileges;
    • Improved the Preferences dialog interface;
    • Fixed the process of saving backup archives with system administrator privileges.

    DOUG1952  I had high hopes when I purchased this program. It came with a strong endorsement from a well respected in the Industry, friend of mine. I paid for this program before even trying it out.(both stupid & idiotic). But I was in a hurry and the endorsement was good enough to take a chance. All I got to say is let me redeem myself from being forever banished into the land of loathing self-flagelation for stupidity by saving you from making a big mistake "KEEP YOUR MONEY"!

    This program is so slow and it crashed or froze up so many times in the middle of a backup, that I have yet to get a complete backup. The last one froze after 48 hrs. It's start all over if your trying to create an image. I just want something simple that works this ain't it!!

    MONDELE  Well, I may regret writing this review this early, but I think it's valid. I'm glad BeLight gives me a 30 day trial of this software, because I'm beginning to think it will take that long to perform the first backup.

    Because of my particular backup needs and bad experiences, I am not, at this point, using the actual "backup feature". Rather, I am trying to synchronize a Firewire-attached hard disk drive with my internal SATA drive. Admitting that the external drive is roughly 280 GB it seems unhelpful that the process has taken 24 hours to move 1/4 of the way. Mind you, this is a synchronization where there was nothing in the target, so a simple copy was all that was necessary.

    On the plus side, the program hasn't crashed, which I can't say about SilverKeeper.

    Unless subsequent copies are considerably faster, however, the slowness (speed seems an inappropriate qualifier) of this program makes it all but useless.
