GEREMIA  I uploaded a new version that should install more smoothly. Try downloading again if you were experiencing problems before.

SYZZYGY  Ok, I downloaded and installed WORDS L. D. once again but same problem as before; Words still does NOT appear on Dictionary.app's list.... in Dictionary.app's Preferences, even though it's been installed in /Library/Dictionaries folder.

MACUPDATE ADMIN  Once again, ditto what Syzzygy said. Still no joy.

GEREMIA  Try quitting Dictionary.app, deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Dictionary.plist, starting Dictionary.app, and making sure it is checked in the preferences. If that doesn't work, then I must conclude that it only works on Leopard (10.5).

MACUPDATE ADMIN  That did not work, oh well. Leopard-only it is. Thanks anyway.

GRANT BARRETT  To use this:

Quit Dictionary.app.

Open the DMG file

Run the installer.

When the installer is done, Dictionary.app should launch. If it doesn't, launch it.

You should see "WORDS" in the row under the icon bar of the Dictionary app. If you have a lot of dictionaries installed, it may be off-screen to the right--you'll have to click the little symbol there to see the rest of the installed dictionaries.

If you don't see it there, go to Dictionary.app preferences and make sure there's a check mark in the box to the left of "WORDS." It should now appear there when you get out of preferences.

SYZZYGY  In Dictionary.app preferences, "WORDS" does NOT appear in the list, there; only "New Oxford American Dictionary" and "Oxford American Writers Thesaurus".

This. even though "WORDS" has already been installed in my /Library/Dictionaries folder.

MACUPDATE ADMIN  Ditto what Syzzygy said. Installed on a MBP C2D running 10.4.11. No show.

SYZZYGY  Have no idea how to access Words Latin Dictionary once it's installed.

It installs in /Library/Dictionaries along with OS 10.4's New Oxford American Dictionary.dict and Oxford American Writers Thesaurus.dict but can find no way to utilize it.

Developer has no apparent contact info.

MUSUBANA  This seems great, but how do I install it?

I have run the installer a couple of times, but the Dictionary application is unchanged.

:-(
