SHOCKERSPAZ  The developer is very quick ti respond! I made a suggestion and they incorporated the change in the following release, a week later!

MUTZ  This is probably a frontend for Requiem wich is free to use. You can't find it easily cause the developer is being hunted down by apple. Search on freenet or torrent sites. It comes for Linux, OSX and windows. It will only remove the drm and not the watermarking of your name in the m4p file. Not only does the developer rips of a website but he rips free software and charges for it....

PIRX  Requiem requires iTunes 7. Later versions of iTune break Requiem. If this thingy works under iTunes 8, it must be a bit more than Requiem.

TICE  Works just fine. Perfect for everybody who don't want to go all the way with burning real Audio-CD and rip them again.

But with 39.95 Dollar way to expensive! Probably 15 bucks would be appropriate.

Just 4 stars for ease of use because it helps not with changing the DRM and MP3 files in iTunes. You have to delete the DRM files yourself and drag the new MP3s into iTunes.

And: the finished MP3 files are at ~/Documents/M4PConverter/Albumname/

EFF  That a "company" like HXMusicSoft would have the audacity to shamelessly rip off the site design of another Mac software developer (*) is quite rude and possibly illegal to begin with, but that they then ask $35 for a piece of "software" that replicates the functionality of a bunch of AppleScripts is plain preposterous.

RICH K.  http://www.yazsoft.com/sd/content/contact.html

your link just takes me to a "Speed Download" page what has that got to do with a mp4 convertor?

TICE  You are right with the site. The developer probably doesn't know that if a friend or so made that site and "borrought" the design.

However, 35 bucks is definitely to much for that app.

LEE123  "The claim of legality is certainly likely to be challenged by Apple"

Actually, the reason that this IS legal is because Apple got sued by the EU and as a settlement decided that this could be a solution to remove the DRM.

LEICAMAN  Kind of funny someone proving a tool to remove DRM charges $35 for what amounts to an Applescript that makes MP3 CDs from playlists.

The claim of legality is certainly likely to be challenged by Apple legal if it becomes popular. Not because Apple likes DRM, but because the labels would go ballistic.

TICE  To be fair, it's a bit more than a bunch of AppleScripts. It installs a virtual burner which you can't do with just a script.

But the app ist to expensive. 10-15 Dollar, not more. And a simple description where to find the MP3 after converting: in your ~/Documents/M4PConverter/Albumname/

LEICAMAN  Why bother installing a "virtual burner" when with an Applescript or Automator you can use Apple's built-in burning capabilities.

So the price is lower? Great.

PETER DA SILVA  What does this do that creating a playlist, burning to a rewritable CD, and immediately re-ripping it doesn't do?

Smart Playlists make the process painless. You even keep the metadata, and you can rip to any format that iTunes supports.

PETER DA SILVA  Following up to myself... OK, this is basically a dummy CDRW that saves you a few pennies per cycle. Fair enough.

CRONOQUE  Makes my G5 freezing at startup (stopped early after the grey Apple). Nothing seems to load when booting in verbose, can't boot in single-user, only Target Mode available...

Reboot has been possible only after manually deleting hx extension after mounting on a second computer...

First and last try for me...

DAVID JAMES  Great idea and looks great, I love this application.

This is a only leagy way to remove drm control from music purchased from iTunes store. And it actual save my money (I can buy music once and share it with my kin, friend and other people).

Auto complete burning / rip is very cool, But I puzzled on frist use. Maybe the developer need to make better documents.

I think it is worth to buy.
