DESCRIPTION
PDF2Image is a simple app I made for my own use as I couldn't (surprisingly) any app that could convert a PDF to images - page by page - so I can put it onto my iPhone... It's simple, quick, with no progress bar (yet), but free.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.1:
  • Fixed an issue where the images would be black/gray.
  • Many thanks to Rosanne Cashriel for the icon!
  • Added an option to select/deselect pages you don't want to export.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

THECAP  Exactly what I need -- if only I could choose the size of the output images in pixels.

GCOGHILL  I too, like the developer, am amazed that there wasn't something like this built-in to Preview or Acrobat Pro (or even reader).

The app works perfectly, big thanks and kudos to the developer!

One small issue: it would be nice if the JPG quality slider retained it's setting. It defaults to 90% for every new document.

RORO01  IT IS PERFECT NOW!!!

Thank you very much for sorting out the issues I mentioned below.

I've released BatchReformat'em which batch converts images to other formats. PDF2Image and BatchReformat'em complement each other as the former converts a multiple paged PDF file to images - page by page - in various formats and the latter converts a batch of single page PDF files to images in various formats.

RORO01  Works as described for JPEG. All images black for BMP. Dark grey background for all other formats (when original PDF's pages backgrounds is white). iMac Intel 10.4.11

thank you for your input. I will take a look and see what can I do about it. I may be able to fix it. I needed it just for JPEG, so I didn't test other formats. Sorry for that.

Best,

Krystof

RORO01  Thank you for that. Would it also be possible to add a feature allowing the user to select which pages to convert? Then the user would not have to convert a whole, large PDF document if they only wanted a few pages.

KRYSTOF VASA  I think it would be possible. How would you like me to implement it? As a range of pages? Or maybe a list with checkboxes next to each page?

Thanks for your ideas.

Best,

Krystof

RORO01  Thanks for your speedy reply and for considering the suggested feature. I think the best idea would be a list with checkboxes next to each page.

I also noticed that you don't have an icon for your application so I have made one for you but don't have your email address. If you would like to email me at rorocash@googlemail.com I will send it to you.
