DESCRIPTION
Cubicles... Apple's Leopard has a neat feature called Spaces. I wrote Cubicles so that I could have a similar feature in Tiger. Cubicles allows you to create new alternate Desktops or Cubicles and switch between them.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.3: Corrects a problem in Leopard where the Cubicles folder's owner permissions spontaneously change from read write.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later

    AKROBAT  Crikey!

Very badly written and executed application.

Very slow to switch desktops (you see your icons disappearing one by one and the whole process takes about 8-10 seconds).

No intiutive or sensible way (mouse button/hotkey) to switch desktops... instead you get a window on the screen.

I logged out with this app running and logged back in and for some reason it started up the Welcome Assistant. Dear oh dear, oh dear.

SWO  The answer is 'no'. I didn't go to the site prior because I used Virtue Desktops, till the maker stopped supporting it.

What the link show were essentially patches, which is not the same thing as saying the app is actively being developed and supported.

PETER DA SILVA  So download the source and take over. That's the whole point of open source software. The real question is why the author didn't do that...

It's as easy as "svn co http://virtuedesktops.info/svn/"
