DESCRIPTION
Paperclip is a menubar application that allows you to attach Stickies-style notes to documents.

aperclip's notes offer full text supports. Users may change the font and format, drag and drop images, movies, and other media, even insert and edit Acorn images. Since Paperclip's notes are document-specific, they will always be available whenever you edit annotated files. Paperclip also provides an attractive Note Viewer that lets you view, search, edit, and manage all of your notes.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.4.1:
  • Memory usage is much, much better
  • Fixes a bug that may occur when moving the support folder
  • Adds a new command to the applescript dictionary
  • Now tries multiple times to register for application notifications. This helps Paperclip work with apps like NeoOffice.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

    ***..

COOLMEMIN  I bought this during the MUPromo because it looked like a great program. The idea was fantastic. I too however have found it to be quite buggy. I let the developer know a while ago and there hasn't been an update at all. If the bugs were fixed it would be great though.

FOTO555  Doesn't work for me. Yes, i can attach a note (sometimes, but often "attach note" is not available).

Quitting any application my note is attached to, still leaves the note on my desktop. The only way i can get rid of it is to "detach" the note.

Sending a note by mail, never does send the PaperClip note.

For me, this software is the buggiest i've seen in years.

GCOGHILL  Been looking for something like this for years now, but seems I need to upgrade to 10.5 before trying this out. Glad to see this available though.

HILLD  Further to my earlier point --- the document I cannot get a note attached to is a Safari html document saved on my desktop. (Just a page of readme text that accompanied a downloaded app.)

Perhaps Paperclip is not intended to deal with such things, in which case, apologies for my misconception.

It DOES seem to work otherwise.

HILLD  Tried the new version -- doesn't seem to work.

Clicking on the Attach note line in the Menu Bar icon produces ... zilch.

Still interested in the idea, Still would pay the money for it ... But someone responsible for it has to make it a working, effecient, reliable piece of software.

(Incidentally, the purchase button does not lead to any web site that enables you to do the business. Hardly the sort of thing to induce confidence in any wouldbe buyer.)

    ****.

BLULOO  New version available at Developer's site (1.01) fixes crashing issue. Works like a charm so far. A very convenient application. Because you can attach a note to virtually any application it has almost unlimited use. It can be used like a contextual task manager, you can add links to external documents on your HD, URLs etc.

BLULOO  This looks quite handy but it repeatedly crashes for me when attaching a note to FireFox.

It runs for several minutes and crashes w/o warning. There is no support or email address posted at the devs site.

would be worth a purchase if it were stable.

    Can you post contact info?

    thanks

HILLD  I'd be interested in this -- and have tried it and retried it.

But for the life of me I can't really see how it's supposed to work, and the lack of even the most rudimentary guide from the developers doesn't help. Perhaps they think it's all very intuitive. Well, not for thickos like me it's not.

If all were made clear I'd gladly pay the price

KSRHEE24  So far, it's working great.

Extremely convenient to take side notes when you are working on the documents and great for reminders when you open up the documents!
