DESCRIPTION
Eigenclock is the new name of CalendarMenu. Eigen means "my own" in German: Eigenclock is a menubar clock the way you want it. It features a fully customizable menu-bar display format, as well as a nice-looking calendar in a pop-up menu.
Eigenclock is now completely localizable. It determines the proper first day of the week (Monday, Sunday, Saturday) from your locale, and shows the names of the months and days in your current language. The currently supported languages for the interface (preferences & menu item titles) are
If you'd like to help with the localization, please download Localization.zip from the extra files to the right, and follow the instructions inside.
Please note that Eigenclock is currently a Leopard only application. Sorry, Tigers.

ACCOUNTCLOSED While the calendar is attractive, it fails to automatically update to the current day, and this has to be done manually. Worse, there is no way on the developer's site to request support other than posting on a forum. Every attempt to search the forum for info from the user community on this issue returns zero hits and an error message, regardless of the search string. IMO, the developer is failing to provide even minimal support for this product—a failing unmitigated by Elgenclock's status as freeware. If you're going to put out a product for people to use, at least be available to respond to requests. It appears as though the developer essentially has abandoned this worthy app. That, coupled with the difficulty using the site to obtain support in my view justify the low rating. At present, if you use Elgenclock, you're using it "as is," and having to manually update it daily is an annoyance that the developer ought to fix promptly. (Version 0.3)

KARENWALLACE This tiny app is super awesome. I sought a free replacement for MenuCalendarClock. I tried MagiCal, but its menu clock is quite ugly. This wee menu bar clock's sole feature is a format string (a big list of formatting options is provided by way of documentation), but it uses a good font and vertical alignment. It could be a smidgen smaller, but I'm content. I agree with the other reviewers on the placement in the menu -- it would be nice if it could be on the right. If all you want is an attractive, configurable clock in your menu bar, this app is the right choice. (Version 0.3)

DEVISOR Very nice little App. The only thing I would like to see is a way to put the clock at the complete right of the menu bar. And if we could choose to put it a little bit smaller also... it could be nice ! But it's a really good job, thanks a lot. (Version 0.3)

TTSOFTWARE Re: only in Leopard. I wrote this for me. I'm glad if other people like it. If not, I'm not bothered. It's open source, so if you want it to work on Tiger, you're welcome to make the necessary modifications yourself. The reason it's Leopard-only is that the calendar is embedded in an NSMenuItem, which only Leopard supports. Doing it on tiger turns a 100-line program into 1000 lines. (Version 0.2)

CASTLE ROSE Oh, Come on! not even supported in Tiger? Geesh You know Leopard is not supported for many Macs being used today. This would be perfect for Tiger, and even Panther. (Version 0.2)

TEXLOGIC Agree with previous reviewer. Nicely done, but should be movable via Cmd- or at least user should have the option of putting it just to the left of the Spotlight icon, where the date/time usually goes. (Version 0.1)
