EDITOR NOTES
Tooble Pro is now available for $5.99.
DESCRIPTION
Tooble is a unique application which lets you quickly and easily take any video from YouTube, and download it for playing on your video iPod, iPhone, or Apple TV. Use Tooble's simple interface to browse YouTube through categories, searching, or with a direct URL, and select any video for download. Unlike other YouTube downloader utilities, Tooble communicates directly with YouTube, giving you access to sources like your favorite videos. One click automatically downloads the video, converts it, and imports it into iTunes to be played or synced to your iPod.

ROBERTCOOGAN2  This would be even better if there was a way to disable the auto-import into iTunes. I keep my YouTube videos in a separate folder, and don't want them in iTunes. So each time I save a video I have to go into iTunes, select the video, select Show in Finder, and then copy+paste to the desktop, go back to iTunes, and then delete the video. A pain.

CHAOTICPIXEL  Doesn't work on my G5 PPC PowerMac. Crashed all the time. When I could get it to load, it would not download anything, kept getting errors. Great in theory, poor in practice.

NIGEL2112  First, nowhere does it state that Tooble needs another component (called 'Perian') to function. Only after the app is installed does this show itself and asks to be downloaded.

It slowed my system right down and crashed so I removed it.

Could be that I'm on 10.5.7

Shame.

ROSENKRIEGER  First of all - let me thank you for this wonderful little time waster - its changed my way of using YouTube. Makes it alot easier to surf and watch videos for me!

I just did a testdrive with Tubular, which is a PAID app and I must say - Tooble beat's it in the aspect of speed ( which is critical for me ) by a mile!

The only addition I am wishing for now ( since I saw it in Tubular ) is the possibility to ad a video to my favorite list within YouTube from within Tooble.

GOODDUDE  Tooble is nice. It's flow is great from downloading to getting on to iPods except some crashes here and there (more on Leopard). It's a good job. I checked Web2 Delight (posted on arstechnica) that seem to have the same flow but in a nice manner with more polished UI and screen actions with more features. It did crash for schedule download. most of these stuffs follow iTunes like interface and actions. May be good for narrowing the learning curve.

TESLANAUT  I really like this app, but I would like to request some things:

-A Cancel Button. Sometimes, it hangs when I enter a URL, I think it isn't working, so I enter it again, and then 2 downloads pop up. I'd like a cancel button to cancel one of the downloads.

-Configure converting Preferences. The quality and size of the video aren't so good. I'd like to be able to change the preferences for the conversion.

-More formats. If possible, add different formats. For PSP and other devices.

AKROBAT  It looks quite good. Nice search function gets you quickly to the chosen video.

The only point I don't get is in the preferences the choice of video format is greyed out... there's only the ipod video format available. But since it's still in the beta phase I'll wait. Looks promising.
