DESCRIPTION
Things is task management solution that helps to organize your tasks in an elegant and intuitive way. Things combines powerful features with simplicity through the use of tags and its intelligent filter bar. A Leopard style source list allows for quick and easy focusing. Together with a beautiful user interface, Things aims at the seemingly impossible: making task management both easy and fun.

Ian Beck's screencast is a great introduction. Learn from our users why Things is different – either on i use this or Newsvine.

  • The big picture. A Leopard style source list lets you easily focus without ever switching view modes or wrapping your head around filter criteria.
  • A magical tag bar automatically appears when needed and adapts to the currently displayed list. It lets you drill down even the longest list of To-Dos. Hierarchical tags? We got you covered!
  • Teamwork. Things offers convenient collaboration features. Easily delegate tasks to members of your team. (This is work in progress.)
  • No columns! Whether it's multiple tags, dates or notes, To-Do items display their information on an as needed basis. No more space wasted by empty or irrelevant column cells!
  • Out of your head, out of your way. A quick entry HUD lets you enter any idea the moment it hits you. Never let the thought of an unfinished business distract you again.
  • Yours forever. We won't lock you in. Things will use an open XML file format to store your data. (Not yet activated.)
WHAT'S NEW
Version 0.9.3.1
  • Alt-clicking on checkbox marks an item as Canceled.
  • Toggling the Today flag now also works on mixed selections.
  • Alt-Backspace shortcut for marking items as Canceled.
  • Added "Log Completed" tool to project view.
  • Tags window. Fixed a bug that prevented children of tags to be reordered (regression due to optimizations introduced in a previous Leopard update).
  • Fixed a bug that prevented children of inactive projects to be updated correctly when the project was moved to "Next".
  • Changed spelling of "Cancelled" to American English.
  • Canceling due items now works correctly.
  • Sidebar counts no longer include canceled items.
  • Canceled tasks will no longer be synced with the system/iCal.
  • In the morning the dock count was only updated after making Things the active application. This is fixed.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

CHAOTICPIXEL  I have dealt with many programs for project management (right now I am using Contactizer), and while Things is not a full blown project management system, I find this to be absolutely perfect for my personal tasks, projects, reminders ... I use Contactizer for all those work projects that are highly dynamic and need all the bells and whistles. But, for what 99% of most people are looking for, Things is definitely where it is at.

COOLMEMIN  What can I say, this program is absolutely amazing! I have tried all of the GTD apps (Omnifocus, iGTD, ThinkingRock, Taskpaper, etc.) and none are as easy to use as this one. Even as a beta it is incredibly stable. I have not had a single crash yet. The developers are hard at work providing new features all the time. I've been using it for months now and can't wait to be able to pay them for it I love it so much. The only thing I would like is easier syncing since I have a desktop and a laptop, but they said they're working on it. Great great great program  (Version 0.9.2.1)

XANTHIPPE  Not even out of beta, of all the GTD apps out there this is the one I use. My goal is to get things done, not to spend my time tinkering with methods and tools and this is the app that actually helps me do it. With all the others I tried I sooner or later tired of them because they were too complicated or forced me to do things their way, not mine.

"Area of responsibility" for non-project stuff (never ends) is great idea.

"Scheduled" for irregularly repeating stuff is simply marvelous!

Only thing I that could be better is the tracking of done things within projects.  (Version 0.9.2)

WINCO  Magnificent! Simple interface. K.I.S.S. principle personified. Well done chaps. 5 stars and it's still in beta!  (Version 0.9.2)
