DESCRIPTION
DeskBots is a talking virtual "pet" that resides on your desktop offering cynical commentary, criticisms of your work habits, and less-than-friendly advice. It has been described as everything from "artificial artificial-intelligence" to "utterly useless". This completely rewritten version of our classic desktop toy includes many improvements over the original 1990's version including full Mac OS X integration and a number of handy new features such as a To-Do list, an event calendar, email monitoring, weather reports, and more.
WHAT'S NEW
Added holiday cheer. Snow, sleigh bells, evergreen, lights and shopping day reminders start to be displayed in mid-December.
Added an option to disable holiday cheer by entering the command "/bah humbug" into the DeskBots terminal.
A number of virtual metal components have been replaced with virtual plastic to reduce virtual weight.
"/date" and "/time" commands now show appropriate displays on monitors.
REQUIREMENTS
DeskBots requires an Apple Macintosh computer running Mac OS X version 10.3 or higher as well as Apple's QuickTime software. A PowerMac G4, G5, or Intel-based Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4 or higher is recommended.
