DESCRIPTION
DeliciousSafari lets you conveniently use your del.icio.us bookmarks directly from Safari.
With DeliciousSafari + del.icio.us (a free service) you can:
- Easily keep your bookmarks synced between home and work.
- Tag auto-completion and suggestions when posting bookmarks.
-
- Apply multiple tags to a single bookmark. For example, if you tagged macupdate.com with "mac" and "software", then later on you could find macupdate.com under either the "mac" or "software" folder.
- Find related bookmarks.
- Organize your favorite tags for fast access.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.7:
- Toolbar button for saving bookmarks
- URL icons (favicons)
- Spell checking for Name and Notes fields
- Faster bookmark saving
- Faster Safari loading
Version 1.6:
- Tag suggestions when adding bookmarks
- Safari to del.icio.us bookmark importer
- Combine tags to narrow results in favorite tags menu
- Changed keyboard shortcut to Control+D
- Fixed bug that prevented some URLs from being saved
Version 1.5:
- Re-posting a URL causes the post fields to fill with the existing values.
NOTE: Because of a limitation of del.icio.us, the do not share field does not display the current value.
- Added WebKit compatibility

SEMIOTICMONKEY Good integration but it lacks some features: !important: no duplicate check. If you bookmark a page already bookmarked, delicioussafari doesn't warn you and post the bookmark again and again (Pukka warns you) No way to permanently check private post. You have to hit the checkmark every time (important. Pukka does the same) Selected text from the page bookmarked doesn't automatically fill the text field in the new bookmark panel (again Pukka fills that information for you automatically). No bias here cause i'm testing both for buying, so i'm considering my workflow and these two options i found, between all those present, the only viable solutions (apart for cocoalicius) ps. consider change icon in safari toolbar and make it more consistent with the UI. VVARP OK, I think that after few revisions of this product, I can revisit my previous review. Since I posted my first comment here (called below "unfair") DeliciousSafari was in kind of beta-quality stage. Now it grows up, has much more features (including VERY NEAT tag suggestion support) and finally becomes stable. I think my current rating is much more relevant to actual state of this tool. Personally I am not ready yet to quit WebnoteHappy, but I will keep an eye on this one to see where it's going. To dev: great job! (Version 1.6)

FISHNCHIPS I felt the need to write a mini-review as the product is stuck at an unfair 2 stars at the moment! It's the only del.icio.us plugin from within Safari and continues to evolve more features and greater stability at each release. I love it. (Version 1.5)

HOTFREAKS Thanks for such responsiveness to user feedback. This seems like a much more usable product now -- the cheque is in the mail. One additional feature that would be great is to either add an "add bookmark" button, or be able to override the safari bookmark button. (Version 1.3)

DELICIOUSSAFARI I agree that a toolbar button would be convenient. The current keyboard combination is awkward. I will look into doing this in the next release. (Version 1.3)

VVARP It would be nice addition to Safari when released for free or with source. Unfortunately it's a paid plugin, which basically duplicates poor solutions from other del.icio.us tools for Mac, do not introduce anything new (well, maybe except the fact being first one of it's kind to exist in form of plugin) and misses some basic functionality. There is no tag suggestions, no autocompletion and all your tags are displayed as a single flat list (which is insanely long in my case). There is also no way to filter out tags or search your bookmarks without getting on del.icio.us website. Short description: feature limited Pukka, which is available for Safari only. Definitely not worth $15 at this stage, get Pukka or Webnote Happy instead. (Version 1.2)

DELICIOUSSAFARI Thanks for the review... but not the 2 stars ;) DeliciousSafari is the only way to create and use del.icio.us bookmarks directly from Safari. Like Pukka, it lists all your tags in a single list in the Tags folder but DeliciousSafari also allows you to select your favorite tags (see Manage Favorite Tags) so that you can easily get to the tags you use most (similar to filtering, but for single tag filtering only). It does lack functionality that would make it even easier to use, such as tag suggestions, tag auto completion, and filtering. I will use your feedback when prioritizing new development. As for price, it is 5 cents more than Pukka and $9.95 less than WebnoteHappy. Thanks again for your feedback. (Version 1.2)

HOTFREAKS I like the integration with Safari, but for me the lack of tag autocompletion is a deal-breaker (particularly for software that costs money). At this point, Pukka is a better deal, but I will look out for the next version of this. (Version 1.2)

DEKESTER I'm sorry, but this falls way short of what I expect and, for that matter, what various Windows plug ins can do. I buy LOTS of little apps and have for years, but I would not pay for this. Honestly, I was kind of offended that anyone would suggest this is in some way worth money. It is not at all Mac like, lacks features, poor usability... no offense, but if you are going to make good software I think you need to take a critique. Then again, maybe some people just have it and some people don't. It's too bad that someone can't get this right. Doesn't seem like rocket science. (Version 1.7)
