(All I only have is PSP).

In the tutorials folder, I also put some mp4 videos helping users easier to know how PEnGUIn Encoder works.

LAFEAR  Hi, In general, you can specify the cpu conut as auto in preferences of PEnGUIn Encoder. However, manual specify the digit is also okay in preferences too.

TRANCE  my mistake, actually it does work, but the first couple of files i tried gave me this error:

Opening video decoder: [dmo] DMO video codecs

WARNING: Attempting to use DLL codecs but environment variable

DYLD_BIND_AT_LAUNCH not set. This will likely crash.

it had never not converted anything before, previously it converted everything i threw at it

TRANCE  and converting to mp4 it converts and then the result vanishes.

BLACKCURRENT  I have just downloaded and installed it...but when I tried to convert a rvmb file, it kept giving me the following:

dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libiconv.2.dylib

Referenced from: /Applications/PEnGUIn Encoder MP4.app/Contents/Resources/mencoder

Reason: Incompatible library version: mencoder requires version 7.0.0 or later, but libiconv.2.dylib provides version 5.0.0

I am on a Tiger, 10.4.11. Searched on the web for a bit...lots of mentioning about MacPorts...which I do not have.

Any ideas what I have done wrong?

****.

ANONYMOUS  The only app to translate RM and RMVB files in Mac OSX.

Interface is a bit unusual (eg. no mention of mp4). One has to choose "optimize" and then the option "PSP".

I got good results with all my RMVB files. Indeed, the colors and contrast got BETTER in the encoded mp4 than in the initial .RMVB file.

However, the speed of the .mp4 was excessive (about 15%). Some fine tuning may be necessary using the rather cryptic options of the optimize menu.

The app also works on incomplete films but it sticks to the original length of the film => one has to wait until the missing part is also encoded. Alternatively, one can interrupt the encoding at the right moment. In this latter case, I found that only Mplayer OSX extended could read the file ( = no further editing possible).

PORTACIS  I tried this but I must be doing something wrong. Everytime I want to encode a vid I get the error

Cannot find file /Users/MyUsername/Movies/Moviename_vid.264

Error importing /Users/MyUsername/moviename_vid.264: Requested URL is not valid or cannot be found

The Movie I want to encode can be a Moviename.rmvb or Moviename.mov or Moviename.avi. I tried different settings and put the movies in different folders, it's always the same. I guess I'm just making a stupid mistake, but which one?

(Extra codes are installed and the binaries are updated. I'm using it with OS X 10.4.11)

LAFEAR  Please remove the old one "moviename_vid.264". And tries to encode again. Maybe use the Preview Mode "command + P" first.

Btw, for now, penguin encoder mp4 can't encode all the rmvb files. Maybe try a different rmvb file to see if it works or not.

Thanks a lot!!

CICI2009  Does PEnGUIn Encoder MP4 also support to convert VOB into MP4? Why my VOB file was converted into AVI when the conversion was completed, instead of MP4. And this software also did not allow me to choose "Itune" as my export destination. I am confused!!

TRANCE  works great for converting .rm files (except for the older ones), just have to use the optimize instead of the divx finction or the sound will be out of sync.

only problem is the converted files are darker than the original, a fix would be appreciated :)

Thanks
