DESCRIPTION

iGet Mobile is a personal server application that runs on your Mac, and allows you to easily and securely access your Mac's documents and files from your favorite mobile device. It works with any decently web-capable device (including Windows PCs), but has--naturally--been designed with a special emphasis on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Features include:

  • access your Mac from iPhone, iPod Touch, PC, or other mobile device
  • easy automagic network setup
  • SSL encryption to protect your data
  • get updates by email when your Mac's IP address changes (i.e., "lazy man's dynamic DNS")
  • intelligent file format and image conversions for iPhone
  • ...and Much More

WHAT'S NEW

Get Mobile 2.0.1 is a maintenance release which incorporates several bug fixes and performance enhancements over version 2.0.

What's new in this version:

  • A new Send Feedback command in the Help menu automatically (optionally) collects system information to help our support staff diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Improved diagnostics and logging.
  • Fixed a bug which could cause the Software Update preferences pane to be unavailable.
  • Fixed two separate problems that could potentially cause an "Internal Server Error" message when starting the iGet Mobile server.
  • Several other minor bug fixes.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

AKROBAT  Leopard only? :-( Pity.

My Desktop running Tiger would be useful with this app. after all my desktop stays at home.

My laptop runs Leopard but the laptop is portable. Sort of defeats the object really.

DELTA FARCE  Wow! Good stuff. Easiest set up for a secure SSL server I have ever seen. I hope they will add the automatic setup features to iGet (regular) as well. Great app.

FREEDMAN  Just set this program up and tried it on iPhone. Amazing. I was able to quickly access all of my document files. As I was typing this, the developer sent an alert that a new version was available addressing the problem of the program crashing when email was set up. Great program, superb developer customer response. Does it get any better?

MARUKO DRINKING TEAM  Note there is an unfortunate crash bug when you save your email settings, if the Authentication Type is set to "None". A fix is expected "very soon, within hours". A workaround is to use some type of authentication for sending mail.

MARK DEGG  Fantastic piece of software, I bought it immediately, however it would be nice to have it running as a background application.

It currently runs with an open window which has to be minimised.
