DESCRIPTION
XsTrimmerLite is a lighter, more stable and has a better trimming engine than XsTrimmer.
Apple makes its switch to the Intel platform. Extra code is generated in the executable files that is not needed. XsTrimmer identifies the code which is not used and removes it safely. This normally eliminates half of the code in an executable.
There are also multiples language files in an application that is not used. XsTrimmer also eliminates this safely. This also shrinks the
application size tremendously.
WHAT'S NEW
2.1.1: - some crashes on Intel version, I can't debug
- back to PPC only
2.1:
- was told the intel version works. Not tested personally.
- made some changes after test.
- minor, when you close main window, app closes.
- major, you can choose localizations to keep.
- preferences work
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.3.x or later. Supports Leopard 10.5.x

NMR did you run it on a macbook? (Version 2.1.1)
| Jul 3 2008 |
NIAMOR yes (Version 2.1.1)
| Jul 3 2008 |
NMR you should have read the requirements properly, it does not work on a macbook. When run on an intel mac it will remove the intel code because runs on rosetta. Sorry. (Version 2.1.1)

NIAMOR Sorry... but i always read the requirements... I've try to run it first on a powerbook (PPC) with 10.4.6 then on a ibook (PPC) with 10.4.11 and just for testing, on a macbook. On each mac, it didn't work.

SNOWWHITESICKETTE My. you certainly are thorough! If an app didn't work for me on all those computers, I'd probably give up. It sounds like it didn't thrash your PPCs, so I'm going to give it a try on mine. (Version 2.1.1)

MORJOVY "XsTrimmerLite is a lighter version of XsTrimmer." what is the reason to make a "lite" freeware app from another freeware app, which has only 190kb size? and why PPC-only? so i cannot use it on intel to trim PPC-code... (Version 2.1)

NMR sorry does not. a couple of crashes reported (Version 2.1)

NMR if the application size is 190kb doesn't mean its lighter than a 50mb app interms of how much main memory and cpu it uses while doing its thing :-) If you are talking about storage, then ur right. wrote xstrimmerlite because it was easier for me to write the new simpler gui with less features then to go about figuring why xstrimmer doesn't run on leopard. becaused i messed up last minute, did not document xstrimmer code properly and was rushing to complete it. this will be easier to maintain for me, so faster updates and bug fixes. The gui and features took me a couple of weeks to write for xstrimmer but wrote xstrimmerlite in one day. (Version 2.1.1)

JOCATRA same here (iMac Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz) (Version 2.0)
| Nov 12 2007 |
NMR thx guyz sorry might be some framework problem. Will fix it as soon as i figure out how to (Version 2.0)
| Nov 12 2007 |
GUNTIS Actually there's no crash (at least not visible). Application just doesn't launch. I double-click and nothing happens. Wow! Now it opened! I cojuld trim, but for some strange reason now I have PowerPC applications on Intel Mac! Is this just a message bug, or it really trims wrong part of the code? (Version 2.0.1)
| Nov 12 2007 |
NMR version 2.0.1 won't run on an intel mac its not supposed to, its a powerpc app. How did it run?! (Version 2.0.1)
| Nov 12 2007 |
NMR I have compiled a universal binary version for intel that "i think" might run. Could someone test it out for me? drop me a mail at support.telnet7{AT}gmail.com thx. (Version 2.0.1)
| Nov 12 2007 |
GUNTIS Wow! Surprise, suprise! I thought it's to remove useless code regardless of which system I use. For PPC Macs - remove Intel, for Intel Macs - remove PPC code. It turns out this is not the case. Maybe you could write with bold letters that this app is only for PPC Macs? So that Intel Mac owners wouldn't even bother with it. For Intel and PPC Macs there is excellent $11 application Xslimmer. I tried it today and it works (almost) perfectly. (Version 2.0.1)

NMR Sorry about that, the first version i released would nicely on my computer. Then i got emails telling it wouldn't run. Checked out i needed to compile it against 10.4u.sdk, only managed to work for ppc. Now i managed to compile it using 10.4u.sdk using both intel and ppc. I need someone to test it out for me. email me at support.telnet7{AT}gmail.com I will send u a copy to try out. I don't have an intel macbook to test it against. (Version 2.0.1)
| Nov 12 2007 |
NMR Guntis, xstrimmer trims more than xslimmer on certain programs. try adium for instance ;-) (Version 2.0.1)
