    MACUPDATE ADMIN  POSTED TODAY (Nov. 8, 2007) AT MACINTOUCH.COM:

    Apple's Hard Drive Update 1.0 is a firmware update that "includes bug fixes and important updates" for the iMac Core 2 Duo and the Mac Pro running Mac OS X 10.4.7 or later.

    [Apple does not specify whether this update is for all iMac Core 2 Duos and Mac Pros or only specific models. However, when we ran the installer on a Mac Pro here, it said that the update was not required. See the note below from a MacInTouch reader for more clues. -MacInTouch]

    if( revision.match(/3.BTD/) )

    if( model.match(/ST3750640AS/) )

    if( revision.match(/3.BTF/) )

    I hope that gives you a little more insight about this mysterious update.
