SMTIPS Do not use this app. It will change your dock however you like, sure. Then after 10 tries it will stop working. Yes, the so-called "free" version is acting like a trial. After many attempts, reinstalls of the app, restarts of the system, permissions repairs, I am still unable to use it to put my dock back to default. The app LOOKS like it's working, but the only thing it will do now (after deleting prefs and reinstalling the app) is to change the app indicators to something else...NOT back to the default Mac. I emailed the dev, but do not use this because it is NOT "free" and it is BUGGED bigtime. I really don't know what I'm going to do to get the dock back where it was, at least it did change the app indicator to something I can live with and not some stupid looking carrot. MACUPDATE ADMIN From the developer's site today: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, Whimsicaly Plucky Software has to close its doors. Id ike to take this opportunity to thank al of the users of BackityMac, RadiioRocker, DochChanger and VideoVangeist for their patronage. There is a possibility we may open the doors again one day. Until then Ive updated all the products to remove all registration requirements and they are all now FREE. Any versions previous to these listed will no longer activate. You may stil email me if you wish, however, no further support for the products will be offered. djmacintosh@gmail.com" (Version 1.8.3)

MIMOT13 Dockchanger works not too bad, even if not perfect, on my IMAC OSX 10.5.6 with last summer version 1.6.9. But impossible to get the 1.7.5 and EVEN on some sites where 1.7.5 has been stored directly. Emails send to author came back with an automatic generated anwser : "Thank you for your feedback. I will review it and do my best to respond to any issues within 24-48 hours depending on volume. If you having registration issues, please be patient, often it can take between 10-15 minutes for the registration information to hit the server before the program will accept the registration. Thank you for your support, http://www.whimspluck.com" This guy must have a problem.. and is probably not very serious. This software is NOT free ! But cheap, ok. What a pity. (Version 1.7.5)

HARV The download above only produces v1.6.9. The Dl from the he developer directed us to (on VersionTracker) (http://www.smartbeginningsorangecountyva.org/media/software/DockChanger.zip) produced v1.6.1. Has anyone been successful in obtaining v1.7.5? If so, how? Please help. FWIW, I find it a sad commentary that after all these months the developer still cannot find a site or mirror to support his products. Two weeks ago I wrote to the developer asking for help. As yet, no reply. I have enjoyed DC, but as of now, I can no longer recommend it. (Version 1.7.5)

PERSON1229 Don't use that, Application Enhancer (another Unsanity tool that Clear Dock relies on) kills Leopard. So it won't work, and when you reboot you'll see a blue screen of apple death, which is ironicly sad. It doesn't say anything, it's just the screen before the login window, it gets stuck there and stops. Then you have to do some magical trickery to uninstall it. So, just a sum up, you can't use that, it kills Leopard. (Version 1.3.7.1)

JSLMG ...And even if it doesn't mess up your system--App Enhancers are benign but useless on my Leopard--you won't be able to use them. The pref panes for them just won't load. (Version 1.3.7.2)

ILOVEMYMAC I have found the Mirror Leopard dock theme to do the trick. Well it's pretty darn close anyway. :) I tried to find a link to the file, but It's been a long time since I've downloaded it. But it's called "Mirror". (Version 1.8.1)
