DESCRIPTION
Winclone... Clone your Boot Camp partition - Now with Vista cloning!

New Machine Setup a breeze
If you are in charge of setting up a bunch of machines with both Mac OS X and Boot Camp, Winclone will make your job a breeze. Simply create an image as your would for a backup, and Winclone will create the Windows partition and restore the OS and data onto the new partition.

Quick Lab Deployment
Deploy images with ARD: Using the included script and the image created with Winclone, you can easily send a new winclone image to a group of Intel Macs, imaging the entire lab in minutes.

Features:

  • Clone Windows XP or Windows Vista with ease.
  • Clone to your Boot Camp partition either on a separate drive or on the same that contains your Mac OS X partition.
  • Creates image documents that can be stored on any media and double-clicked to open in WinClone.
  • Verbose logging so you know what is going on.
  • Built on the open source ntfstools, which are included in Winclone, so you don't have to install anything else.
  • Fast: Restore a 10 GB image in less than 10 minutes.
  • Create a Boot Camp partition from within Winclone.
  • Do it all from the boot drive: You don't need to boot from a Firewire drive to clone the Windows partition.
  • Clean and uncomplicated interface

BRIAN KENDIG  This is a terrific program, but unfortunately it seems to have a lot of incompatibilities with Snow Leopard - for some people it errors when they try to back up, for other people it errors when they try to restore from a backup. If you're on Snow Leopard, I recommend staying away from Winclone until the problems are addressed. See their forum at 'http://www.twocanoes.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=4'.

SCOTT_E_COLLINS  Happy to see this is still being developed. Been using 2.0.9 for quite a while and worked perfectly for me, saved me quite some time!

MITCH_DE  I now looked in that NTFS tool set .pkg (with pacifist) , the new version needs.

They are "only" tools not new NTFS drivers (i was unsure because using Paragon NTFS) .

So i installed and all is OK.

MITCH_DE  ???? Since this version WinClone wants an NTFS download or didnt start at all.

Bur iu have already full NTFS support by PARAGON NTFS (very fast+very stable).

I dont want to install an second NFTS driver (open source).

Any solution for that little problem ?

Thanks for that great Tool !!

BRIAN KENDIG  WinClone prompted me to upgrade to the new version 2.1, which I did. Launching that prompted me to download and install NTFSProgs, which I also did. But 2.1 won't back up my Windows partition - when I try, it gives me an AppleScript Error: "stat: /Volumes/Mac: stat: No such file or directory" "stat: Backup: stat: No such file or directory (1)"

BRIAN KENDIG  2.1.1 appeared today, and looks like it solves the problem - just now a backup with 2.1.1 succeeded.

    MACSOLU  PolyBlog,

I was presented with an offer to automatically update from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10 a few months ago via the built-in software update mechanism, and it downloaded and works fine. But as of this moment, their web site is not mentioning that 2.0.10 is current -- I don't know why. And the built-in software update now constantly returns an error message. I suspect that maybe the developer(s) are either abandoning this product or there's some other form of trouble to the point that this software is not being actively developed/supported.

RUSKIWI  Works just as advertised! I was able to back up my Windows 7 partition, restore it, and the partition is NTFS format. Same for Windows XP - backup and restore was a breeze. I had a relatively small install (under 15GB) so it took less than half an hour to restore, which is far better than installing Windows from scratch.

    Great price, thanks!
