DESCRIPTION
Sapiens is an application launcher, it helps you access all the applications in your Mac. Sapiens is clever because it learns from you, so unlike any other launcher it predicts the applications you will likely need and offers a visualization of this prediction in an intuitive way.
Sapiens is activated by moving the mouse in a circle (yes, it is a mouse gesture that finally works), therefore touching the keyboard is really the last resort to be used in case you want to search for a specific application.
Sapiens was created because we recognize that users are tired of launching applications by typing (whether by using Spotlight or any other keyboard-based launcher). These launchers make us feel like we're back in the '80's when the keyboard was the only input device.
Everyone wants to have visual access to their favorite applications, but it's inefficient and frustrating to organize applications in different folders or in different docks. Life is too short, and there's not enough time to waste fighting against the entropy of the system.
Sapiens is next evolutionary step in application launchers. It is a visual tool that predicts the applications you will want to launch and lays out the application's icons in way that makes interaction with the mouse simultaneously intuitive and revolutionary.

N_DUB Fantastic! Sapiens has saved me the time and hassle out of finding the preferable application. It's easy to use, and comes with a stylish transparent interface. If you use a variety of applications and want to reduce the length of the dock (which in my case was so long that I could hardly distinguish the icons) then sapiens is a great little application. GARY30 I wrote an earlier review after crashing problems with this app and decided to revisit it after deleting all InputManagers, APE and gobs of old preferences in anticipation of a Leopard upgrade. Well, the crashiness is gone and that is great. However, over time it appears that this app is nothing more than a scorer for an application usage popularity contest. Kind of neat, but I have already made the top ten or so frequently needed apps close at hand via the dock, etc. So this app doesn't really buy me anything in terms of productivity. For someone like my wife who uses only a few apps this would be fun. I had a notion that Sapiens' delightful UI could be adapted to replace the functionality of something like DragThing for "power users.". The idea is that you might have Sapiens circles for various apps and utilities that you classify and each circle might contain essentially the most used apps in that class. I suppose the user would need to assign the apps to a particular classification. Maybe too complicated. Oh well. (Version 1.1)

DRFRANK I'm not a keyboard guy, I like the mouse, specifically Apple's Mighty Mouse. I've used LaunchBar and Quicksilver for years, but I wasn't a power user of either program. Sapiens intrigued me as soon as I heard about it; I purchased it that same day and a week later, Sapiens is natural to use and just plain fun. (Version 1.0.1)

NAIDU.SAROJINI Awesome app. Very reliable and stable. After using it for a week I have to say the Artificial Intelligence works very well. The mouse gesture makes it very simple and fun tool to use. (Version 1.0)

GARY30 I really like this application! Unfortunately, shortly after I installed it I got application freezes with Entourage, Safari, and the Finder itself which led to having to reboot via the Power buttion. Having removed it, my system is stable once more. Unfortunately, I ran both Disk Utility and Onyx which deleted my crash logs. I need this system for my business but may still try messing with Sapiens but not without a couple of backups and some time. MacBook Pro Core Duo 15" 2.16, 2G ram (Version 1.0)

NAIDU.SAROJINI Well I seriously doubt it was a fault of Sapines, Mac OS X has protected memory, which means that an app can mess around as much as it wants but cannot modify other applications or the system itself. I think the source of your issues need to be found somewhere else. It might have been just a coincidence that you ran Sapiens when you had those problems (Version 1.0)

GARY30 I don't think I identified any "fault," merely a correlation. As for your confidence, there are thousands of posts on thousands of forums suggesting that particular programs can cause problems with other programs including the Finder. Happens all the time. To say this isn't the case is a bit optimistic in my view. (Version 1.0)

O-JEFF GARY30 don't you think that if Sapiens conflicted with Safari, the Finder (!!!), and other applications... you would see here lot of negative comments about Sapines. Instead you see quite positive feedbacks... I personally have been using Sapiens 10+ days and I am pretty happy with it. (Version 1.0)

GARY30 Yes, you are correct. 272 downloads (as of this writing) does suggest that all possible permutations of OS X versions, software installations, and machine configurations are fully covered and there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for my having the temerity to make such a ridiculous observation. In fact, it is possible that I was hallucinating as I had taken an apririn a couple of hours before I tried the product. (Version 1.0.1)

REVGRIDDLER Just first impressions, but I like the way this feels. I haven't determined how well it "learns", but I like the concept. A lot better than Trampoline, and I like the included QS/LB-esque text entry. I love Quicksilver still, but I'm gonna keep my eye on this. I'm not sure about the cost, but maybe it'll become more compelling as the app matures. (Version 1.0)
