MINOMBRE Like a previous reviewer, I was also a dedicated Beyond Compare user on PC. After an extensive review, I have found Deltawalker to be the best of the file/directory comparison software available for Mac. Since it is still a work in progress and therefore, for me, lacks some of the functionality of Beyond Compare, what really convinced me to buy the product is the excellent and timely customer support. I am confident that my requests for features in future version upgrades will be sincerely listened to and implemented. (Version 1.8.7)

KSRHEE24 I just upgraded to 1.87 from 1.82 and had a problem with the upgraded version. I wrote to them thinking that I won't hear back for a few days, but within a few hours, I had an answer. I asked them another question, and within 5 minutes, I had the response as well. Wow! I would call that excellent customer service. It's the service like that that really gives confidence about the company and the program!

ROB.H Working with multipe versions of files in different locations, straightforward backup/sync hasn't been an option so thought I'd give this a try. Extensive range of options for how to compare files or folders, and intuitive interface and results presented in an intuitive way makes it easy to get all you need done. Had a minor issue with an aspect of using NAS drives so contacted the developers. They responded in under 24 hours and were really helpful, providing a solution within a couple of days - great support! Worth the price for the time it's going to save me. Would definitely recommend it. (Version 1.8.6)

EIRENS I've evaluated DeltaWalker, Araxis Merge, FileMerge, Changes and DiffMerge. I've never evaluated Guiffy. I'm a longtime and heavy user of BeyondCompare 2.x in Windows. For me, BeyondCompare is the gold standard of file/folder comparison apps but it's Windows-only and I only use Windows for work -- and, even then, only when I must. Like when I need BeyondCompare. Folder comparison is a must. File comparison is also a must. I'm particular about having a certain feature set and DeltaWalker fit the bill so I bought it via this promo today. I got a prompt response from Deltopia support today asking about Word doc comparison support (Araxis Merge has a filter that strips the text out of Word docs so they can be compared.) Deltopia support told me they've already started on Word and PDF comparison support and that they'll definitely have it out by the end of this year (2008). That broke the approximate tie (ignoring price momentarily) between DeltaWalker and Araxis Merge. Although Araxis Merge uses native OS X controls and DeltaWalker is apparently a Java app or uses some other toolkit I'm not familiar with (the controls and icons didn't ring a bell), I was surprised that I found DeltaWalker instantly and consistently more comfortable than Araxis Merge. So in the end it came down to more than just Araxis' huge price vs. the more reasonable DeltaWalker Personal price: I actually was more comfortable inside DeltaWalker. The other tools I've evaluated didn't come close to the top two, DeltaWalker and Araxis Merge. And DeltaWalker got my money, without hesitation. (Version 1.8.5)

PANDO This is a high-end diff tool - take it from someone who's shopped for OS X diff tools for days. I own the Oro version and for $75 you get more than what the description says, plus great technical support. Between home and work I run Linux, OS X and Windows and DeltaWalker delivers on all three. A bit unconventional UI for a Mac app, yet very usable and pleasing to the eye; it just feels right. Love the in-place editing, the merging, the folder comparison right-click filters, the FTP... Highly recommended! (Version 1.8.5)

MRAY 1.5.7 is a much needed update to an overall excellent application. The folders I usually compare used to take 7-8 min, vs. 25 sec now! Although I own a copy and I am pleased with it, the folder comparison performance prior 1.5.7 was a problem for me especially with very large folders. In my experience and for my purposes DeltaWalker is the best comparison tool at steal price. Support for comparison over http & ftp will be a great addition. (Version 1.5.7)
