8OO8  Alexius....hey there, little guy. Sorry you found my hyperbole grating. In the interest of making this world a better place, though, please have yourself lobotomized. You'll feel better too.

    Thanks!

Oh, and don't forget, now, it's time for your enema.

APFELZ  I don't know your problem - but its a shame that you use my software to compensate your small blanket - please be so kind and find yourself another place to troll around. THANKS!

8OO8  It's a shame that your precious little software is the ground for some verbal nastiness, Herr developer? Oh, it's a crying shame! Well, the world is a nasty place.......get used to it!!

If someone posts a snide comment directed at me, whether HERE or elsewhere, I have every right to respond, HERE or elsewhere. I was not the one to set the precedent HERE, or aren't you paying attention(?).

If there are no such comments, there will be no comments in the same tone from me.

    It's as simple as that.

SYHARRIS  Schreiberling seems ok at first glance.....it IS fairly simple, although whether or not it's unique enough or really capable of facilitating a writers flow of words unencumbered any better than other writing apps out there might be debatable.

The developer's overall philosophy, though, in offering his extremely reasonably priced software is commendable. Check out his other other apps.....they're quite nifty.

Oh, and the "professional writer", below, so arrogant and self important, dour and anal, takes issue with the "ad hominem blowhard huffery....all too common round here", does he? Well, perhaps his own pedantic flatulating is considered good form within his own pretentious, tight-sphinctered circles, but his flatus smells just as foul as anyone else's here.

He would be well advised to get off his high horse. Pompous ass!

8OO8  Ok, I figured out how to get this puppy going. First you have to click on the little icon opposite "Works" to the right of the main window, then you have to click on the "plus" icon to left, then you type your text.

Then you click on the little icon opposite "Chapter" and then click on the "plus" icon, then you type more text.

Then, and only then, after you have done the above exactly in that order, can you begin typing text in the main window.

Well, this is the most convoluted, labyrithine, soul devouring, creativity crippling, user unfriendly procedure for using a simple word processor ever devised by man!

Was the developer on a bad acid trip just before he came up with this little torture device?

After using this little demonic contraption, I was so miserable that I felt like blowing my brains out!

For God's sake, man, when I write... when my creative juices are flowing, I just want to open a page and start typing....is that too much to ask????? Jesus!

I gotta go lie down now........sigh....

BOBMAC  I'd love to give this thing a try but I couldn't get it to accept any writing, either in the main panel or in notes. Maybe someone can tell me how to get it to work? I'm on a Macbook Pro, OS 10.4.10.

    RUBAIYAT  Appfelz

May I suggest that you start with a default Work and default Chapter.

I remember this entrance door to an office in La Défense in Paris.

It epitomised Modern Design. It had no handles, push panels or visible hinges nor indicators as to which way it swung, slid or hinged.

And of course it did not open automatically as you approached.

It was probably designed by an Alien.

To summarise, good design does not mean: Possessing a secret, and making everyone else guess what that is. Nor putting the instructions: Somewhere-Else.

    ALEXIUS  Doc infinity,

    Your hyperbole is grating, buddy.

Do us all a favour and don't become a writer -- or rather, keep your writings confined to whatever program you do decide to work in.

    Thanks!

LEV  I can't go in for all this "creative juices flowing" business. I'm a professional writer. That's how I put bread on the table. I have to do it anyway, creative juices or no.

Organising material is always a chore. At first sight, Schreiberling is a nice solution, halfway between text-only and the complexities of full-bore writers' workbench apps like Scrivener.

It's also exceptionally aesthetically pleasing. So I'm certainly going to give it a go & will report back with, hopefully, a _useful_ review instead of the ad hominem blowhard huffery which seems to be getting all too common round here.
