DESCRIPTION
MoodBlast is a menubar/dock item (convertible) with a system-wide user-configurable hotkey that allows simultaneous posting of a "mood" to iChat, Skype, Adium, Twitter, Jaiku, Tumblr, Pownce and Facebook, or any combination of these services. Keywords preceded by "@", "!" or "%" allow for special functions such as current weather, current iTunes track, current Time (+x minutes) and other functions to be inserted. URLs are automatically shortened using Tinyurl. MoodBlast is a Leopard-only, native Mac application that can be navigated by keyboard commands alone, or used with a mouse and keyboard.

TTSCOFF  I have a Tiger build with all of the current features, minus the HUD. I'll get it ready for release as soon as I'm able.

GLOBETROTTERDK  Removing Facebook "is" doesn't seem to work.

NetNewsWire and Proteus support would be nice.

So would support for TwitPic.

I am not experiencing any Apple Script issues.

TTSCOFF  NetNewsWire is supported for grabbing URLs, if that's what you mean. Proteus' AppleScript implementation doesn't currently allow us to support it, but we're watching for it.

TwitPic and image uploading in other services is in the plans.

RAMPANCY  I'm still getting the occasional AppleScript errors with this, (and I think they stopped when I told it not to parse the Clipboard for URLs) but all in all, this is the perfect "Web 2.0" app for me. It's unobtrusive, and its focus on updating your own status (as opposed to reporting the status of others) is what makes this app a better fit for me than Twiterriffic.

And thankfully, this works a lot better for me than the previous version did.

TURKCHGO  Oh yeah, just wanted to add, to find out all the kung-fu goodness of those app. Pull it's menu down and select it's help feature and read the part "Find out how the pros do itÂ…"

It basically tells all the really neat tricks you can do with this thing.

TTSCOFF  I'm working on a new set of docs and an accompanying screencast to help shed some light on the mysteries of moodblast. Admittedly, it gets a little complex if you want to do anything fancy with it.

Of special note is the Facebook string =[x|y]. Using that syntax, anything you put in for x goes to Facebook only, y goes to everything else. This can be used multiple times in a string. Pressing the test button will concatenate your string and show you your final results before sending, preserving any special status or override states. Use the test panel!

Example: =[working like crazy on|I'm slaving away over] some new docs for MoodBlast 3.0.

TURKCHGO  Once you figure out some of the many keystroke shortcuts to this thing it is the kung-fu app of online presence systems.

Sort of like Quicksilver/LaunchBar for IM clients and Micro-blogs.

Being able to set my status away, with a custom message, in 3 Instant Message apps and simultaneously post the same message to 4 web sites with one action is awesome!

Great work!
