DESCRIPTION
Memoires is the best way to keep your journal on Mac OS X. Choose a day and write as many notes as you like. Then browse your journal by day using calendar, or search for notes using the instant-search feature.

Memoires has a gorgeous user interface. Even though it's a powerful application, it is very easy to use. No distractions, no complicated forms: just two buttons and one search field. Even easier than a paper journal!

Memoires supports AES-128 encryption, so your diaries will be safe from prying eyes.

KEN BURNS EFFECT  18 USD for an upgrade, c'mon!

And 30 for a new licence. Seems pretty high for this kind of simple app.

A tenner for upgrade and 18 for for the full monty would be more appropriate.

MACBLISS  Needs to be able to export as individual entries (not just one document) and preserve creation/modification dates of entries. Important if you ever want to get your entries out of the app and use in another program.

MACBLISS  Like the feel of this app and its simplicity. A few features that I think would enhance it would be -- being able to tag or label entries, a full screen view, and configurable background color for entries.

ISSIER  I'm pretty new at this so afraid to ask but is there a way to print the entries?

PLASTERPYRUS  I can't get this thing to launch, it begins to open up and then just crashes. Anyone else having this problem?

YUNFAT  Performs as expected... clean interface, drag and drop images into entries, encryption, search, robust text formatting. I really like it and thanks to the developers for the MU promo, I purchased immediately.

If I may make a suggestion to the developer... a simple coloring scheme would be consistent with the purpose of the app and would be more helpful than say making new diaries for different things. A highlight color red might indicate a romantic entry, and could appear in the calendar as such. This would allow entries with completely different themes to be contained in a single memoire.

Entries for work could be coded blue for example, entries that involved my volunteer projects could be highlighted green.

Just a thought, pay no attention, it seems you all know what you are doing :)

PALADINO  Memoires is a really nice, simple journeling app; I'd use it except that it's, IMHO, overpriced...considering it's simplicity. So I'll pass on this one.

A much better bet, I think, might be Journler: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/18214/journler

It's got some really interesting features, and it's free for non-commercial use.

RADIOFLYER  I used it when it was a beta and liked it but $26 is beyond my upper limit for this type of application ... back to using Word ... Ugg!

SIGMUNDT  It should be possible to resize pictures so that they fit into the window. As it is today, only part of a large picture is shown.

DARKATHENA  I just wanted to leave an updated comment regarding my previous post about spellcheck as you type - it already has this feature under the Edit -> Spelling options in the menubar. It was strictly my ignorance that I didn't know it was there.
