INYAR  I've tried nearly every finance managing app available for Mac... and finally found out that MoneyWell was the best for my personal use.

The great thing about MoneyWell is the way it allows you to manage your budget : it uses the envelope method, so you put money in different "buckets"/envelopes and use it until the bucket is empty... you're not checking the way you spent your money after spending it (like in most apps). It allows you to really control your spendings, not just analyse them afterwards through reports and stats.

The UI is great. Yeah, there're still a few features missing, but the developper is one of the most reactives : about 1 update/week, answers to every question... The 1.3 is on the way, with scheduled transactions for example.  (Version 1.2.10)

RKM001  This is simply one of the easiest programs I have found to handle my budget requirements. Super smooth interface, superb support and modest pricing make this one tough program to beat!

Two thumbs up for this software!  (Version 1.2.9)

CURLYPAWS  I've tried most of the Mac finance packages in the search for something similar to Microsoft Money. MoneyWell isn't that, but what I discovered was that I had been looking for the wrong thing.

MoneyWell has a different philosophy - and is aimed at helping you budget each month and track where you are spending your money. Instead of getting to the end of the month and discovering that I had overspent, it is now evident before it even happens.

This change of emphasis is really refreshing and I've found it a much better way of tracking my finances. Having said that, MoneyWell offers many of the features of something such as Money - including a very nice reconciliation feature. It still lacks a few bells and whistles such as scheduled transactions, but development is constant and (most important) building on a stable base.

Highly recommended.  (Version 1.2)
