DESCRIPTION
pro Fit comes with a spreadsheet editor for handling numeric and alphanumeric data sets of millions of rows and columns, a drawing editor for creating high quality graphs and presentations of data and functions, powerful curve fitting and data analysis tools, a built-in Pascal compiler for programming functions and macros, and more. It provides a context sensitive help mechanism, is scriptable and recordable with Apple Script and Pascal commands, and fully supports Mac OS X.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 6.1.11:
- Improved import of bitmap-based pictures, such as png pictures, into drawing windows. Support for dragging png files into drawing windows.
- Updated the documentation for SetShapeProperties.
- Fixed a bug in GetWindowProperties for windows not having proper print settings.
- OpenCurve set the wrong xAxis, yAxis and zAxis when generating a curve with MoveTo and LineTo. When e.g. the current y-axis was set to the second y-axis before the call to OpenCurve, then the curve would still be drawn towards the first y-axis.
- Fixed an incorrect error message about being impossible to fit K and const at the same time for the built-in Log function.
- Fixed a crash when organizing parameter sets with a (new) resource file with more parameter sets than loaded at startup.
- SetFunctionParameter can now set the value of an input value even if the input is the function's default input.
- Fixed an issue in the compiler that might lead, under some rare circumstances, to object parameters to be passed improperly to a function
- Fixed a multiprocessing issue that could lead to stalling or unpredictable behavior under some circumstances, in particular while fitting a slow function.
- Improved handling of source files with a mixture of line feed and carriage return characters in the debugger.
- Fixed an issue that could lead to a misinterpretation of axis parameters (such as passing 'Y1' for the y-axis) from a script to pro Fit.
- The "show last fit" check box in the preview now works properly.
- Made it possible to edit the fill color in the box of box plots. Before it was fixed to white.
- Improved Snow Leopard Compatibility.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

ZEBA How does this compare to Igor Pro lately? (Version 6.1.9)

ANONYMOUS With all the features you get for $95 (what is the cost of competing packages?), its intuitiveness (how fast do new users learn Igor?), and the good stability and user-support, this is an amazing program and I can only give it maximum rating. Great value for your money, great useability, and it provides 98% of all the features you will ever need for data and function analysis purposes in a very accessible (and easily expandable) way. It is much better to get 98% of what you will ever need in a package that is so approachable that you won't forget how to use rather than to get 99% at the cost of a complicated and difficult to learn program. ANONYMOUS Good program. But, note my ease of use and feature ratings are both high even thought I believe for many users it will be rather low. Basic graphing is on par with the old Cricket Graph 1. But, I rated features high because it is highly programmable. It is much easier to get started in that Igor Pro, but not as powerful. People who don't read the clear instructions on the site for the difference between demos and betas shouldn't have their ratings counted. (Version 6.0b8)

ANONYMOUS I note that you gave a single star for stability. If you have any issues to report, please let us developers know at profit@quansoft.com. (Version 6.0b8)

HAPPY CONVERT No it is NOT a DEMO, it IS a BETA version that requires a v5.6.x license to use. A demo version of the CURRENT final release 5.6.6 IS available from their website. When v6.0 is no longer in BETA, I weel expect them to a the v5.6.6 DEMO replaced with a v6.0 DEMO. It IS an EXCELLENT program, please try the DEMO. I have replaced KaliedaGraph several years ago (its development has been essentially dormant since the mid-1990's) with it and have never looked back. (Version 6.0b3)

EMILIO CRUZ I´v ebeen using pro fit for severla years now ,and it´s the perfect replacement for DeltaGraph. Granted, it doesn´t support as many chart types as DeltaGraph but is moe powerful due to its Pascal programming. I´ve used to teach calculus as well as programming and it is one indispensable tool.
