DESCRIPTION
iPlace is a small contextual menu plug-in for Safari. It is designed to help you browse images in web pages and to manage your image downloads. iPlace allows you to specify a set of locations to which you can save images and then allows you to either save single images or to browse all of the images in a page without seeing any of the text in between. In this way you can easily select and save multiple images at once.

Donations gratefully accepted.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.2:
  • Place has been updated to support the Safari 4.0.3 version, which is standard with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
  • iPlace remains at version 1.0.2 as there are no functional changes.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X version 10.4 or later, SIMBL version 0.8.1 or later, Safari 2.0.4 or Safari 3.

KIDCLAM  I am using SnowLeopard and this version doesn't work any more. I guess I have to wait until end of the month?

MACTECHHEAD  Initially I got the same SIMBL error as another reviewer below had too.

I really don't have much use for this plugin but was curious how well it worked for future references for clients.

Regardless, to fix the SIMBL error saying that version 1.0.2 is unsupported with Safari 4.0.3.

I had to manually open the contents of the plugin and modify the info.plist and change the MaxBundleVersion line from 5528.16 to 5531.9

I would suggest to the developer to change that line to something like 9999.9 to avoid SIMBL automatically annoying users by disabling iPlace every time Safari 4 is updated.

Gave iPlace a good round of tests with Safari 4.0.3 (5531.9) running on Mac OS X 10.5.8 with a iMac Intel CPU.

No complaints and everything worked as it should for me!

KIDCLAM  I have contacted the developer and he has updated the version (yet still same number 1.0.2) so that it works with Safari 4. Works as normal, so its all great! Thanks to the developer for a quick turnaround.

TEKURIS  Hi,

I'm afraid I do not currently have Leopard, all testing has been performed on Safari version 3.0.4 on Tiger version 10.4.11.

If you are willing to assist in testing a version of iPlace for Leopard then please go to http://www.tekuris.com/contact and get in touch as it will likely be a few more weeks before I can afford Leopard.

Thanks

TEKURIS  Hi,

I have had a little bit of help testing on Leopard and all seems to work fine. I have thus updated the iPlace 1.0.1 download on my web-site.

The amount of testing on Leopard is much less than that of Tiger however so if you have any problems please get in contact.

Thanks

BINGLEY JOE  Great little plug-in! I haven't had any issues with it crashing Safari, and it's one of those little tools that's just so handy to have when you need it.

I love that it puts the original link into a downloaded file's Get Info comment as well -- very nice. It would be nice to see that info in the main iPlace window somewhere as well (maybe with a copy-to-clipboard option), but at least it's available somewhere.

The only other thing this needs is a quick way to reveal the downloaded files in the Finder. But otherwise, it does what it says and stays out of the way. Nice tool.

TEKURIS  Hi,

Can you tell me a little more about the problem such as if you have any other plug-in's for Safari.

I think it might be best to go to http://www.tekuris.com/contact and send a message to me so I can better investigate.

Thanks
