DESCRIPTION
ShoveBox catches all those little scraps of information that you can't act on now but would rather not forget. It sits up in your menubar, waiting for you to drag in text, images, urls, and more.
It makes it incredibly easy to get data in. Just drag it in from near any program, or use QuickJot to type it out before you have a chance to forget.
When you come up for air, ShoveBox also provides a sensible interface to sort everything you shoved during the day. And by setting up powerful importing rules, you can drastically reduce the thinking you'll have to do later.
It's all about spending less time processing and more time actually doing things.

ULYSSESRIC Downloaded from MacHesit nanobundle too. This application is basically an menubar-item application that works like QuickSilver, ByteControl, Synergy, etc. I really very love this idea of system integration and global hotkey access. It let me quickly log and access scraps when working in other application. However, the data storage ability of ShoveBox is limited. This application works only with data that can be copy-pasted through clipboard, and Mac OS X native documents like URL bookmark, WebArchive, and PDF. That should be enough for scraps, but when working with some serious applications like Office, it's not enough. It can't store Excel and PowerPoint file into ShoveBox, and Word document will be converted into RTF data. It can't store image files while remaining the original format but the picture-clip, and can't be drag-n-dropped into PowerPoint. ShoveBox is a great application for quick scarps. But it's not the best solution for serious information storage and workflow. (Version 1.7.6)

FOXYORB Wow! and double wow! I can't believe how powerful this is. It is such an optimum tool to quickly capture the main types of information such as text, images, bookmarks, web pages, pdf. This tool even shows up in the service menu and print to pdf menu and these are but a few of the ways to get the same thing done: shove important information. And syncing with the mobile app on your iPod touch or iPhone is a perfect example of how it should be done. The author mentions that Spotlight will soon search any captured text file in ShoveBox. Well triple wow! (Version 1.7.6)

PSW I love this product! I own a few of these file/info catching programs and I consider this one the best. The quick entry, easy drag and drop, solid search and easy exporting make this software an easy to use pleasure. Even my significant other (whos not very tech savy) has no problem using this program. Great app. (Version 1.7.3)

RIDOGI Of all the apps that provide a way to organize the clutter of the desktop, this is the easiest to get the data into it, and the only one that provides an "Inbox" so I can go back to it later to sort things into subfolders. More features like subfolders and a keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot and paste the result directly into shovebox would be welcome. It is also lacking an export option. (Version 1.7.3)

SJSW This is one of those amazing little apps where you sit back and tell yourself "man, this is just what I've been looking for". I find myself dragging and dropping stuff in shovebox all day long and then I organize it at the end of the day. Give it a spin, you'll be buying a license. Props to the developer. ROBBNASHVILLE I have grown to depend on ShoveBox to keep myself organized. I own both the desktop version and the iPhone version. It does everything it should do and more.I am totally happy with both versions of the program. Because I am a well-organized individual, I need something I can depend on. Before discovering ShoveBox, I used EverNote and even paid for the pro version. I bought ShoveBox because I had issues with EverNote being "down" too much for my tastes and because I had to refresh EverNote for the iPhone each time I wanted to see the latest version of my note. This does not happen with ShoveBox because syncs are performed between the desktop & iPhone versions directly instead of going through a cloud, so to speak. EVEN BETTER, I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5.7 last night which produced a syncing conflict. I wrote to the developer about 7 PM CDT. He replied almost immediately telling me he was working on a fix. When I got up this morning, he had already developed a fix. That was quick! This developer obviously takes pride in his work. I recommend this program to anyone. (Version 1.7.2)

JOHN F. Great app for syncing notes and files between my iPod touch and my Mac. Was waiting for a great combo and have now finally found it! Syncing is good. Just open the iPhone app and it automatically syncs. App just sits in the menu bar on the Mac, so it's very unobtrusive. And the app looks great on iPod and on the Mac. The developer is friendly too! SAMSOFTWARE What can I say? It is the best. I have tried using other applications such as DEVONthink, and they are just to large and bulky to be running all the time. ShoveBox has a low profile even on my iMac G5 with 512MB of RAM. Quick-jot is very useful for saving small snippets of text or notes I may have written down somewhere in a document. I was a big user of Stickies in OS 9, and it really has not been the same for me since OS 9. I could compare this to Stickies. Hotkeys make it efficient on screen usage, so I don't have additional windows open that I don't need. The mobile app is a great companion, so I can take my brain with me, and organization and searching is a breeze with the ability to set up smart rules on what you are importing. I often save a url as a web archive so I can read it later, I have smart rules set up to check the URL if it is from a news site, if it is, ShoveBox saves that to a different folder from my normal web archive dump folder. Very good app, I highly recommend it. (Version 1.7)
