Iris... Do more cool stuff with your iSight.
Iris features:
- Snapshot mode, with core image filtering.
- Movie mode, with user selectable size and compression format
- TimeLapse mode
- Security mode, with motion detection and email alerting.
- WebCam mode
- Built-in Gallery
From the Gallery, you can send your photos and movies by email, export them in your selected format, send your photos directly to Flickr, or export your movies in iPod, Apple TV, or iPhone ready formats.

- Added stop recording menu item.
- Fixed expiry date issue.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later, built-in or external iSight camera (other cameras may work, please let us know!).
G4 or better or Intel Mac, and a Quartz Extreme graphics card recommended.

UMIJIN Be aware that there is another app out there called "Iris" in late Beta stages by NoLobe Software. It is apparently near release and is a photo editing app. If you download the NoLobe Iris, and install it - it will overwrite your MildMannered Software Iris app. You should drag the imposter Iris to the trash (don't use AppZapper) and install a new MM Software Iris, or you may lose your gallery of past recordings.

RKELSO13 This software allows you to take full advantage of Apples built-in iSight camera. The ability to be able to take snapshots and video is amazing. I also love that you are able to add filters before taking a snapshot. The interface is very clean and pleasing to the eye. Even someone with very little computer experience would be able to use this program.

UMIJIN I'm reviewing from the perspective of the final Beta. This app is slick, and fills a much needed niche on my iMac. My 10 month old daughter enjoys the image in Photobooth while she sits on my lap. But we can only get still images from that. Now, we make goofy movies together with Iris. And the other features are just way-cool. Great functionality, cool interface, fun implementation. I only have 2 criticisms. The first is the gallery window should be more easily accessed from the camera window (how about a big fat button). The second is the price - which should come down $10 or so IMHO.

CRACKPOTHEAD Not very useful and after I uninstalled it my isight was screwed up. Avoid it if you want to retain picture quality.

CASTLE A much needed and elegantly implemented application. Makes commonly needed tasks with your iSight easy and fun! I would like to see the option of greater control over some of the functions, but for such a recent app this is great stuff!

if you'd let me know what controls you'd like over specific functions, I'll see what we can do. The two main constraints here are b) what can be elegantly fiitted into the UI. b) is actually much more constraining than b), but we can always add hidden prefs, if required for specific needs.
