OpenArena... Completely free, GPL FPS game based on the Q3A engine and gamecode.
OpenArena has fully working bots, net play, and a vast selection of maps and player models.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 0.8.1:
- Uses protocol 71
- Single player campaign re-organized (Thanks cosmo)
- 'Depreciated' client for Windows 9X in addition (lacks ipv6 support)
- New hitsound
- New map: ps37ctf
- New map: ctf_gate1
- New map: am_galevish
- Space Marine should no longer crash on old client
- Chaingun works in unlagged now
- non-Free texture folders from previous release removed (this also removes the schism and q3dm6ish-v2 map)
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, 10.4 or later recommended.

NITEWING98 Made buying a better graphics card worth the money! I have an older Digital Audio Powermac G4 that I recently bought a Radeon 7500 video card for, and went looking for FPS games that never worked with the Rage Pro. Man! This is the BOMB!

TICE This is a great freeware game. I played it nearly every day on my holidays. To sad that nobody seems to recognise that a few people put in a lot of work to make this game. Special thanks to Jack Overfull for the Mac version. Great game, big fun, all for free. Worth the waiting for a slow download I think. : )

JACK OVERFULL The right system requirements are Mac OS X 10.4, I don't think that it will work on 10.3 (it may, but i don't think so).
