CHAWKNZ  Who says you don't need to uninstall on a Mac? Well, really you don't but if you don't look carefully, your preference folders will get filled up with applications from ages ago.

This application does a great job at finding most files associated with an app and provides a clean, easy way to see and clear these files. This program has become a staple of my desktop, residing where the classic Mac's trashcan used to be.

Best of all? It's free.

Thank you!

STOSH1985  Every Mac should have this software installed on it. With the added benefit of the monitor to detect when apps are sent to the trash it really helps keep things in order on your machine. Special thanks to the developer for this great piece of software!

SUCKERPUNCH86  Great piece of software for removing all traces of a program! Highly recommeded when you want to make sure that everything is deleted rather than dragging it to Trash.

HALEAKALARI  I hope the author of AppCleaner keeps up with this page, because it has been quite difficult to get a response from him through e-mail, but i have a bug report which is as follows:

Under OS X 10.4.11, AppCleaner Version 1.2 does not detect or display

any Widgets under its Widgets section. Furthermore, AppCleaner's

History function does not seem to work at all either, when you click

"Show History..." from the "Window" menu or use the keyboard shortcut

(Apple-L), nothing is displayed. This occurs on an Intel Core Duo

MacBook Pro.

Also, in AppCleaner Version 1.2, under OS X 10.5.3, although the History window is accessible, the Widgets section exhibits the same problem it does on OS X 10.4.11, as it does not seem to detect or display any Widgets. This occurs on an Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook.

COMPAGNODIMERENDE  Wonderful app. Perfection will be reached with an option to auto close the app after using it with smart delete or when dragging in the dock icon.

Anyway thanks a lot for this great piece of software.

I gues it's going to easily become n.1 since appdelete has recently gone demo/shareware.

DANWAY  Even with smart delete, it still doesn't remove all of the files associated with a program. I have to manually search to remove them.

CALL ME YO DADDY  So far this is the best app remover I have used. I cannot justify paying for Appzapper when this is free and does the same if not a better job. Great work guys. I am happy to donate to this project.

FARDILHA  I've been using AppCleaner for the last few weeks and I'm really impressed with it.

I like the interface a lot but the new feature "SmartDelete" is really great.

I'm always trying new programs and I don't know a better way to make my Mac free of all those small files that tend to stay behind when we delete an application.

As best I would add an option for AppCleaner quits itself after being called (and used) thru SmartDelete, but even that isn't a big deal.

Thank you so much to Mr Julien Ramseier for this great (and free) utility.

ZANGIEF  Looks like an AppZapper knockoff. Nice, but I like AppZapper's interface (and genie) more. Besides, the creators were really understanding about the fact that I can't buy it and gave me a license. :D
