Macintosh Software Search: New column sorting and sidebar filtering!

DESCRIPTION

MiniMail is a plugin for Apple's Mail application. Just as the mini-player in iTunes does for music; MiniMail puts information about your inbox at your fingertips. You can easily see messages as they arrive, and quickly action them. You can resize the window any way you like to conserve as much screen real-estate as possible.

Features:

Any Size You Like:

The MiniMail window is exactly like the iTunes mini-controller everyone is used to. Resize it to suit your screen size, or available desktop space. From 1 to many lines displayed in the message viewer, MiniMail always has you covered.

Message Preview

Preview the current message right from MiniMail: just press 'Space' or click on the preview button to see a full message preview.

Clickity Click:

Check for mail, compose or action unread messages; all at the click of a button. Easily reply-to, forward, redirect or bounce an incoming message, catch junk or flag those important e-mails. Day-to-day blocking and tackling is easy with MiniMail.

Clever Updating:

MiniMail is smart enough to alert you when an update is available, so you're always ahead of the game.

Keyboard Wizzardry:

MiniMail allows you to quickly cycle through your inbox with your keyboard or the on-screen arrows. We've also added support for the Mail.app keyboard shortcuts you know and love, so you'll never be at a loss.

Custom Mailboxes:

Mailboxes are an excellent way of keeping on top of large amounts of e-mail. We've added custom mailbox preferences to MiniMail so you'll only be notified of those messages that land in mailboxes you deem important.

SWO  Interesting app, but doesn't Spaces in Leopard somewhat negate the need for it? What does it matter what size your Mail app is when you can have it take up an entire window?

I have a Space just for Mail, so nothing shares space with it.  (Version 1.1.1)

Excellent application, and build 67 is available now. Much prefer it to the apps that bring up floating, semi-transparent windows onto your screen. MiniMail is unobtrusive, but available at a glance when needed. Developer is responsive, which is always a good thing.

Two features that I would like to see considered:

    1) Capability in the actions menu to select which rule to apply to new messages that don't already meet rule parameters (sometimes I can't remember which rules I have active), i.e. if I want to tag it, etc.

    2) An indication of some type to let me know if I had multiple new emails by the same sender, same subject, perhaps designated by color. That way I would know to scroll through to find related emails--helpful when working on a project or issue that's changing quickly throughout the day.

As I said, though, MiniMail is a great idea, well executed by OliveToast Software. (1/12/2008, Version: 1.1 build66)   (Version 1.1 build66)

DAN FRIML  Yes! Excellent work! I just downloaded, tested and immediately bought it. It's stable and works without any problems. Recommended!!!

but.. hey... the idea with list of messages posted by N/A9 looks really cool! I'd love to see something like that.. what do you think?  (Version 1.0.1)

N/A9  Very nice! I'd like to have the option of seeing a list of messages rather than one at a time. I'd like to set the height of each message in prefs and then be able to resize the Mini Mail window to show more or less messages.  (Version 1.0.1)
